Vehicle Detail

Let me begin by saying that I'm an avid GM muscle car collector. I am not a dealer, flipper or "friend of the seller." I have a large collection of award winning, highly restored GTO's, Chevelles, 442's, Corvettes and GS's. I finished the restoration on this 1971 Chevelle, but need to sell it because I have a baby on the way and I'm simply out of room. It's the most recent addition to my collection, so it's the one that has to go. I purchased this car a few years ago from a man in Florida who, like me, was an avid collector. He was forced to sell due to illness. When I bought the car, all the paint and body work was done. It was a high end job, stripped to the bare metal and given a multi- stage paint job using only the best Dupont base and clear. The color is Hugger Orange with white stripes. The paint has an incredible finish- it has been professionally wet sanded and has a straight, mirror-like reflection. Outstanding gaps all the way around. New 15x8, 15x7 factory rally wheels with new BFG Radial T/A tires. Every piece of trim on the car has been replaced with new parts or restored to show condition. Everything from the bumpers to the drip rails, window moldings, emblems, light bezels, door handles, etc. are to the highest standards. All glass on the car is in outstanding condition with no chips or cracks. The white vinyl top looks brand new- no stains, tears or discoloring. The 350 motor was treated to a complete high- end rebuild that cost the previous owner just under $6,000. It has premium internals, including a sporty cam. Car has tons of power, but stays nice and cool (Under 180) when cruising on the highway at 80- 85 mph. I have not had this car on a dyno, but would estimate that it's putting out roughly 325- 335 horsepower. Starts right up every time, not tempermental- perfect car for someone looking to drive it anywhere. The Turbo 350 transmission was completely overhauled and treated to a shift kit, so it shifts with a crisp feel. The rear-end was rebuilt- I believe it has 3.31 gears- perfect for street or highway. A custom mandral- bent dual exhaust with X-pipe and 40- series flow master mufflers makes the car sound literally perfect. Nice and throaty exhaust note, not too loud, but screams when you put your foot down. I went through the whole suspension, replacing the upper and lower control arms, ball joints, bushings and shocks. Most all components came from Classic Performance Products. The power disc brakes were also completely redone with new rotors, pads, stainless brake lines, power booster and master cylinder. Car stops as well as any muscle car I've ever owned. A ton of money was spent on making the interior of the car as nice as the exterior. Everything in the interior was either replaced with new parts or professionally restored to "as new" levels. Seats were professionally recovered in factory white vinyl. New door panels, headliner, high- end cut pile carpet, door handles, power windows, felts, weatherstripping, etc. I spent over $4,000 having the entire dash replaced, removed and restored. All new dash components including dash cover, dash face, glove box, steering wheel, etc. New factory gauges, including tach, speedo and clock. A factory column shift car automatic car with bench seat, I had plans on converting it to a floor shift auto with buckets. Therefore, I opted to install the speedo for a console shift car. This will make it much easier for someone looking to do that modification down the road. Everything works as it should, as all wiring was thoroughly gone through by a professional. All turn signals, lights, windows, etc work perfectly as they should. AC blows cold within 30 seconds of start up. Interior of car is flawless, both mechanically and visually. The bottom line is that you will be hard pressed to find a nicer Chevelle at any price. If this were a big block car, the price would be double. I just want to going to a good home where it will be driven and appreciated. In a world full of hacked up, questionable Chevelle's that are offered for sale, this is an extremely well restored, reliable car that has only been touched by people who know what they're doing. Perfect for weekend cruising, long road trip or car shows. Absolutely no disappointments here, I am happy to answer any questions to my best ability. Unfortunately, the car lost it's build sheet decades ago and as any Chevelle people know, proving that a Chevelle is a real SS without the build sheet is impossible. I bought the car as an SS because I felt comfortable given the person I was buying it from and the history they presented with the car. However, without the build sheet, I'm selling the car for the price of a well done tribute car. From one avid collector to another, this would be an impressive addition to any car collection. Car will be offered for sale locally, so this auction could be ended at any time of it sells before the auction ends. If it does not sell in the next 7 days, I will just have to get a storage unit and keep it in there. It will not be offered for sale again after the time this auction expires. Thanks!
