Vehicle Detail

After providing years of smiles, this Lincoln Town Car Stretch Limousine with 167,000 plus fun miles failed inspection due to rust on the bottom of the vehicle. It spent the past year sitting in the driveway and my wife gave me an ultimatum of fixing it or listing it by November 1st. I am hoping somebody can make something happen with the vehicle before having it demolished for scrap metal. We used it for family fun on birthdays, parties, and whenever somebody needed it, they took it. Maybe you could bring it back to life, part it out, make it the base for a float in a parade or a condo vacation home. My kids used it as an igloo in the winter and would camp in it in the summer. Here is some information to help you determine if this project vehicle is worth your efforts. I am 100% lacking of any mechanical aptitude, but will do my best The rust on the sides and bottom is getting worse. You will need someone that knows what they are doing and also has the ability to put a stretch limousine that carries 11 passengers up on a lift. Standard vehicle lifts will not work. There are welders that know how to do this task. The engine runs. A buddy put in a battery thing that you can disconnect the battery when the vehicle is not in use. I needed to jump start the vehicle today to get it running and it needed to run for awhile to start it a second time. The engine is now louder than it was in the past. If the car sat for a week prior to putting in the battery disconnector, it would sometimes need to be jump started. I would keep one of those portable jumpers handy. The air conditioning does not work well at all. I would venture to say it is useless. Fan on passenger side is very loud. Rear driver's side door may be starting to leak. Not sure if it just was not closed tight when it rained last night. Rear passenger side door is not closing properly as the paneling on the floor board is coming undone. Needs some work. No rips in the seats. They are all burgundy colored cloth. Most of the lights on the inside of vehicle work. I think a couple of the cup holder lights did not work. Privacy barrier works. VCR is lame; it's VHS and useless Stereo has an auxiliary hole that allows you to hook your cell phone into the stereo for tunes. Radio reception was awful. Engine hood would not close today. It had been fine until today. There is some interior rust on the upper latch that may be causing the problem or maybe I just need some WD40. Numerous rust holes on the bottom and sides of the vehicle. Paint is now peeling in some areas. See pictures. Muffler is dropping and needs to be secured before driving. I put $800 into new brakes less than 3,000 miles ago. Vehicle has a drinking problem. It looks good at night, but quite ugly in the morning. The only thing mint in the vehicle are crushed Junior Mints from the kids being sloppy. You could technically drive it away if you secured the muffler, but towing is recommended to be safe.
