Vehicle Detail

1932 Henry Ford roadster originally hot rodded in 1978 with most of the lacquer paint still on the car. All sheetmetal is original Henry Ford including body, doors, decklid, fenders, frame horn covers, splash apron, grill shell, running boards, except the hood (Rootlieb steel) and dash panel (Brookville modified). Other original parts include original grill insert, dropped headlight bar, gas tank, headlights, windshield posts and stanchions, wiper motor, door handles, hood latches, trunk latch, tail lights, convertible bows (not chopped), inside mirror, 1939 steering column with original banjo wheel, etc. The floors in the front were recently replace and the rear floor was replaced back in the day with flat steel so I have included a Brookville floor for the rear to replace the flat steel so it retains the correct beads. An easy install. Engine: fresh (never fired) 394 Oldsmobile Rocket bored + .30, 6x2 intake that was going to be converted to electronic fuel injection, Ross Racing custom ground cam, Mallory distributor modified to look original, chrome valley pan, adaptor to switch starter to other side, exhaust flanges. Transmission: T-5 out of an S-10, clutch is set up (manual) along with correct flywheel. Dash: Original 1932 Lincoln KB dash insert silver plated, Stewart Warner gauges, custom modified Brookville roadster dash extended 1" to accommodate the larger Lincoln insert. Chassis: this car was original hot rodded by a machinist in the late 1970's and the workmanship is very nice. 4" tube drop axle, custom stainless hairpins, GM front disc brakes, dropped leaf spring up front, custom stainless crossmember, custom X member, Corvette C2 rearend with disc brakes, rear trailing arms, custom stainless crossmember for rearend, steelie wheels and 1936 Ford wide 5 wheels with hub caps. Interior: old front and rear seats with new blank door panels, original (?) top wood. This is a stalled project that was a driver only a few years ago when it had a 302/C6. The sheetmetal is really nice on this car with little bondo as this car was built when good bodies and fenders were still available. The fuel lines and brake lines remain in the car, so to make it a driver again it will need to be wired, exhaust, fire up the engine, fit the gauges, etc. This is not a turn-key car so please don't expect to put some gas in it and drive. It's a great project that just needs finishing and I've tried to be as honest about it as I can be, but please feel free to fire me any questions. Very reasonable reserve price. On Oct-12-15 at 13:04:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had some questions on the car so I thought I would provide some additional information. I purchase the car 7 years ago as a driver. It had fiberglass rear fenders, a homemade dash, a filled and peaked radiator shell, a heavily modified firewall and an aftermarket splash apron. I decided to make the car more correct so I found a pair of very nice original rear fenders, a nice original firewall, a nice original radiator shell, a nice original splash apron, a modified Brookville dash with a '32 Lincoln insert and put those parts on the car. I pulled the 302/C6 that was tired and replaced it with the 394 Olds Rocket which is fresh, I have receipts for the work, and went from automatic to 5 speed with the T-5 and set up new clutch and brake pedals. The chassis is an original 1932 chassis modified with different cross members for the engine, trans, rear set up like any hot rod. If you know how to work on cars it won't take much to make this a driver again. The pictures have some things mocked up, like the steering column, because when we made new floors we didn't know if we were going to use the Ford column or go with an aftermarket, so no holes have been drilled into the column support bracket that is part of the dash panel so the new owner has some choices rather than undoing my choices. The firewall is nice and has been modified very nicely for the Olds motor but needs the holes filled and some metal added to the feet but there's no pitting or rot. I've been building cars for years so this is an easy project to finish for me but may not be for someone who has never worked on cars before. I'm only selling the car because I have a new business and no time to finish the car. Please send me any questions before bidding. Thanks!
