That the dawn of motoring took place in France is a fact where not many people are familiar with.Peugeot is a famous pioneer of the motorcycle and car industries, which company is still in business from the moment that they started manufacturing motor-vehicles in the year 1899. This 'frozen in time' 1931 Peugeot P108 police-spec model has gone through a time-warp and is still in the same appearance as it was many decades ago. The reason that this machine is still in this condition is because it has been standing in a dry basement for a very long period of time after it was taken out of service, where it became part of a collection of special antique motorcycles after it surfaced again in the early 1980's, where it stayed up to the moment that it was acquired by me fairly recent. The engine is frozen, thus not turning because it has been unused this long, but think this problem can be sorted by putting 'Marvel Mystery Oil' or 'WD40' on top of the piston (through the spark-plug hole) for a while.Both tires are almost falling apart, but are still holding air (by the way, tire size is 3.50 x 19" = 100/90 x 19" which current size is still on the market today). Please note the special features on this machine like the original 'Jaeger' watch, special blue police flash-light, siren on top of the headlamp, leather police side-bag, the high-power dynamo on the rh side of the engine (see image 'Maglum'), spark-plug with cooling-fins! and the valves that are clearly visible on the outside of the cylinder.Another remarkable thing of this motorcycle is that the original tire-pump is still in place on the left side of the front-fork.Like should both the frame- & engine-numbers are correct and matching with each other.The front police licence plate was in the side bag and comes seperately with the motorcycle (see 2nd image), the rear police licence-plate is illuminated and has the code 75* (*which is the code for Paris, France). This machine has never been road-registered and comes with an official European certificate of origin which states the make, model, year, displacement, weight etc. and an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) motorcycle crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a container freight station as close as possible to you at my expense, meaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, where you are responsible for all charges at your end, like ISF filing, entry fees, port-handling, eventually broker fees etc.If you want any additional information about this (or assistance), please ask before you place a bid.
