This is a very sought after 2001 Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax Diesel with 4X4, long bed, and automatic transmission. The transmission is regular and not Allison. The truck has 261k on it and it has been on the road as a daily driver every day of the year this year until last weekend when the heater core hose broke. It belonged to a long time customer of mine and he has had it since it had about 150k on it and kept the maintenance up very well. When the hose broke the truck died and he had it towed to me and traded it in on another diesel that he had been wanting to buy anyways. I haven't tried to fix anything on the truck. I only took it's vital signs so I could correctly advertise and here is the verdict. It doesn't start at all but it turns over and it sounds like it has compression like it could start at any minute but it doesn't. There is no water in the oil. Other than that I haven't done anything to try to get it going. My opinion is that the worst it could be is the head gasket but I am thinking like it's a gas engine as I don't know much about diesels. However, I can't imagine it being more serious as the motor turns over fine. CONDITION: The body is straight. It has scratches and since it is black you can see them. There is really only one real ding on the body and that is in the right rear of the bed, but expect normal wear and tear inside and out for a 261k mile truck. The good news is every single option including A/C, 4X4, power windows etc were all working before the incident. The drivers side inside door handle fell off where you grab it to close it but it's still in one piece. I would have remounted it some way if I were going to retail it but it isn't worth the effort since it doesn't run. Everything else about the exterior and interior condition can be seen in the photos but keep in mind that since it is a black truck the finish is like a mirror and most of what you see in the pictures is a reflection of buildings and clouds (and me lol)......not actual blemishes. The good news is that it is my truck now since he traded it in and I can't keep it as it takes up so much room that I can't park cars that will actually make money for me.........so HERE IT IS at NO RESERVE! It really is an easy fixer and you will have a nice solid truck once you get it cranking up again:).This truck will be sold to the highest bidder.
