Vehicle Detail
1964 Kaiser Jeep M-677. If you know what this is, you know that they do not come up for sale very often. This is the 4 door military version of the FC170 cab over pickup truck built by Willys and the Kaiser Jeep from 1956 to 1965. They say that around 400 of them were built for the Navy in 1964. This is 1 of the approximately 50 know to still exist. She has a South Carolina windshield registration tag from 1975, but she has been in Michigan for at least 10 years and is now located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The Good: #264 of approximately 400 M-677s ever built. This vehicle is still in very original condition with it's complete Cerlist 3 cylinder, 2 stroke, supercharged diesel engine, T-90 Transmission, Spicer 18 Transfer Case and full interior. All the glass is there and good, except for a small crack in the Driver's door main window at the bottom that is barley visible. Interior and floor steel are in very good condition. I have a clear title. The Bad: She does have exterior rust, as seen in the pictures. Unfortunately, two owners ago, she spent some time outside. For the past 10 years, she has been garaged. The rust is primarily on the external body panels, B pillar supports and door outer skins. The front cab corners are mostly gone and will also require replacement. No spare tire, or Driver's side rocker panel, they were not there when I bought her. This Jeep does not currently run and the front axle is very stiff, but she will roll with enough muscle behind her. I was going to go through the front axle and brakes so you could push her around by hand during the restoration process, but never got around to it. I am selling because I stumbled upon an FC150 Brush Fire Truck that I could not pass up, and I have too many other projects, so the M-677 will move on to her next care taker. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail with your phone number if you want to talk. I will get back to you within the day. I also welcome interested buyers to come out and take a look at her. There is no warranty, she is being sold as is, where is (Farmington Hills, MI). For shipping, I will get her out to the street, and the rest is up to you or your carrier. This truck weighs in at 4660 lbs, and with the factory spring over axle suspension is just over 7 feet tall, so consider that in the shipping, she is a big girl. Thank you for looking. On Sep-28-15 at 10:20:59 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/28/2015: I received a few questions about the engine and air filter. First, the air filter in the picture was upside down, so I flipped it around and added a picture. I am missing the filter 'clamp' which is a metal bar with a screw knob in the middle to hold the filter in place. I also included the only picture I could find on the web of what this looks like. Secondly, I added a few pictures of the engine to show the condition and that is looks to be complete. I saw nothing out of place or blatantly missing. Thanks again for looking, Matt. On Oct-01-15 at 18:52:13 PDT, seller added the following information: 10/1: I received a question about the engine rotating, freely and I confirmed tonight that the engine is NOT seized. Tonight, I was able to rotate the crank about 15 degrees in each direction by hand. There is no center bolt on this crank, so this was all I could get it to do by hand before the compression made it impossible. Also, I have lowered the reserve as I need her to find a new home. Again, thanks for looking/bidding.
