Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1977 Mercedes Benz 240D. It is a nice car with great paint job for its age. The interior is in very good condition also. I bought it to drive as a second car but I don't use it very much and want to go ahead and sell it. It runs and drives good but as with all the 240s with no turbo it is not a fast car at all. You have to get accustomed to driving with less acceleration than most cars on the road today. When I was driving it regularly it was getting about 22 to 26 mpg. Front tires very good condition (newer) with back tires in fair condition. 2.4L 4 Cylinder DieselAuto Transmission143,762 Miles (+9,000 miles not showing from an earlier date)Power Locks (Vacuum operated)Cruise Control (not operational) Alpine Stereo CD Player AM/FM Radio Pastel Grey Original Color The car was rear ended while parked along the street a couple of years ago. There is damage to the driver's rear quarter panel and trim and the taillight does not properly seat in its housing anymore. I received estimates in the range of $2,400 at two body shops to repair the damage but opted not to get it done. The A/C is having trouble as well- it will come on but the belt squeals badly and the compressor pulley doesn't turn all the time. It needs a new antennae as a recent car wash knocked off the old one. The passenger doors have some small dents like hammer pings on them which was like that when I bought it. I am selling this car as is & let the current market determine what it is worth. Terms of Sale: The pickup location is Hot Springs, Arkansas. If the buyer wishes to fly in to Little Rock I can pick them up for no charge at the airport or from the Greyhound bus station in Hot Springs.
