Vehicle Detail
1953 Ford COE Cabover engine. C600. 2 ton truck. This awesome rare old beast runs well, drives good, and stops great. It has lived most of its life in southern Indiana, occasionally hauling corn. Most of the time it's been sheltered in a pole barn. It's a very solid truck with only a few little rust thru holes, which could be fixed easily. It's got a very nice, stout frame. This COE rumbles down the road with no problem. People stop and stare, and then smile and wave with appreciation as I drive by ! * The engine is a 232 ci inline 6 cylinder (OHV) of about 1963 vintage. I believe it is out of a Ford truck. * New fuel pump, plugs, cap, rotor, rebuilt Holley carb. * The entire brake system has been redone : new master cylinder, booster, all brake lines, fittings, wheel cylinders( 2 per wheel ), shoes and drums scuffed and cleaned. This truck stops extremely well, especially considering its mass. * New wheel studs and lugs on rear wheels. All wheels have been sanded down to bare metal and given a couple of good thick coats of silver rustoleum. * The 4 speed manual shifts well, and so does the electrically shifted rear axle, giving it 8 forward gears. * The tires are 8.25 x 20 inchers, and should probably be replaced. * New back glass and rubber seal, new drivers side glass. * The grille is the rare deluxe version with " teeth " , and has been redone. * Hood has been redone. ( acid dipped down to bare metal. see pic. ) * Trim is all original. * Lights work. * The bed is some heavy duty wood. It's solid. The grainsides are in pretty good shape, and can, without much trouble, be removed. The 3 chutes in the back still operate, and are removable. The wood, though, needs to be replaced. * The framework ,you see on top of the sides, I built to support 4x8 sheets and tarps, that I would loose install during the winter to keep the snow out. * After the sides have been removed, you've got yourself a flat bed hauler ! * This is what I had in mind---hauling my son's 53 Ford F-100 street rod pick-up to shows, in the back of this COE. * Well unfortunately, he had to sell it.... Things change. So, now this very cool truck is up for bid. * The possibilities are endless. You don't see many of these in this condition, just waiting to be finished, or transformed into your dream truck ! Go for it !! U.S. and Canada bidders only please. Bid to own. As is, where is. Bidders with less than 10 feedback, contact me, or your bid will be removed. thank you.
