Vehicle Detail
The car runs perfectly and always starts easily. Everything works on it - all the lights, the electric seat adjustments and windows, the heated seats. Air conditioner works well. All the gauges work. It has the original stereo (radio and cassette) and it works fine. The interior is in almost perfect shape. The exterior has a few dings, nothing terrible. The car has never broken down on me and has been reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. I drove it through Death Valley in the middle of the summer last year, and there were no problems. It gets good mileage for a big car, typically just under 30mpg on the highway. It has good power. I purchased the car from a local Mercedes-Benz specialist, Nico Pikios at Midtown Autoworks in Sacramento, and have had it serviced by him since. He has agreed to talk to potential buyers about the car for any details that I am not able to provide. Ask me for his contact info or look him up online. The bad: It seeps a little oil and burns a little oil. It takes about a quart every thousand miles, which is fairly normal for one of these (according to my mechanic). That's the only real flaw I have to report about it. I have service records going back to 1996 (with a gap of a few years) and will include them in the sale. Regular maintenance has been consistent. Previous work includes a rebuilt transmission, a new water pump, a new wiring harness, new mass air flow sensor, a replaced antenna and antenna motor, replaced upper radiator hose. It has new tires (Uniroyals). The rebuilt transmission is the most important item there, because that is an expensive job that you know you won't have to have done. This car was purchased in Germany by the first owners, and still has the original German license plate. I have owned the car for two years. I'm selling it because I bought a newer car (a 2013 Ford C-Max). It has a clean title with the pink slip in my possession, and is currently registered to me.
