Vehicle Detail

The cool: Up for sale today is a part of American history that is going away. If you look at 1966 Impalas on ebay, you know that there is a lot of regular Impalas, but not a lot of SS cars. We have what I believe to be a true SS, I have no reason to believe that this car is not the original engine and transmission. I have know where the car was for the last ten years. The engine runs good, I installed a new brake master cylinder drum brake shoes, brake spring hardware kits, brake wheel cylinders all the way around and new rubber brake lines in the front. I repacked all the wheel bearings. I installed a new gas tank, fuel sender, fuel pump and rubber lines. I have drove the car about 5 miles with no problem, no engine smoke, no exhaust leaks and all the gears worked in the power glide transmission, driving to the auto shop that I work at. I have spark plugs, cap, rotor, wire and A/C delco points set that goes with the car. I have new belts and hoses that are in the trunk. The Tires are 235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear, on American torque thrust wheels, there is two different sets of center caps, regular and spinners, they are all brand new and have only went 5 miles. The interior is all there, factory bucket seats, with the exception except for the factory rally pack gage set, it was missing when I bought the car. All the gages that are in the car work, including the 6000 RPM tachometer. I have restored some other muscle cars and I can tell you from experience that having a car that is totally put together to start with is one cool thing, it will save you a lot of time on ebay and the junk yard looking for hard to find clips and retainers for odd things that you do no think of. The Bad: There is some rust in the normal places that these cars rusted. There is a hole in back of the drivers seat in the floor board, I have had the car on a hoist and didn't see anymore holes in the floor. There is rust in the lower corner of the front renders and rear quarters. The body lines all line up nice. The interior needs a total restoration. The Sad: Its a sad day for me because I really didn't want to sale the car, I have some other financial obligations and just cant afford to restore it. I really hate to see this car go. I did not buy this car to flip it, so I am being totally honest in the condition. There is no warranty on this car written or implied. You will be responsible for shipping. If you can not pay for the car, please don't bid and then hope I can work with you, the car is at the dealership that I am a mechanic at and I can not keep it there anymore, you will have to pick the car up or have shipping arrangements very soon after the sale. I would not recommend driving this car home, like I said before, I only drove it 5 miles and hit was setting for a long time before I got it. I hope someone restores the car and enjoys it.
