Vehicle Detail
*NO RESERVE!!! CAR WILL SELL!!!* Up for wholesale by Smith Motor Company Inc. is this 1970 Mercedes 280se Sedan. I originally bought this car to restore however I do not have the time or resources to do so. I have taken the car down the road for only a few miles. I have listed some of the good and not so good things that I noticed about the car below. That being said I am selling the car at NO RESERVE to one lucky bidder. Pros:The body is in good condition (I can't find a dent on the car)Everything is there (The car is not missing any of the exterior trim or interior pieces)The interior including carpet is in good condition (Driver's seat has a rip in the bottom/see pic)Original spare tire, jack, and tool kit is in the trunkAll electronics seem to work on the car (Including lights, blower, horn, turn signals, etc.)The car is equipped with power windows (All work except drivers rear)The car runs and drives (I have only driven a few miles)Original bill of sale and many records on the cars service history are in the glove boxThe floorboards are solid inside (No rust)Cons:The engine has a rough idle (Could need a tune-up or simply needs to be driven)There is an exhaust leak underneath the carThe battery seems to have a dead cell and will need to be replacedOne hubcap will not stay secure to wheel (may need bending in one spot where it clips on)The woodgrain trim inside needs some attention. A/C is not blowing coldThere is some rust around the car (Does not seem to be serious as it only looks to be surface rust/see pics)Radio doesn't seem to be working (Have not checked fuses)In the trunk, the pocket area to the far left is caved in (Could be fixed with small piece of sheet metal) This vehicle is being sold AS-IS. There is no existing warranty and no returns offered. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close. This deposit is non-refundable! The full payment is due within 7 days of auction close. Since this car is being sold by a dealer, some documents will have to be signed by the winning bidder. These can be mailed if necessary. South Carolina residents must pay 5% sales tax upon purchase. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Again the car is being sold at NO RESERVE!!! One lucky bidder will be getting a great deal. Good luck!!! On Aug-24-15 at 07:47:20 PDT, seller added the following information: ***PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING***The car is now not running! For whatever reason, the car will now not crank up and idle as it was only a few days ago. Possible clogged fuel filter or old gas, I am not sure. Because of this, if any bidders that have bid up to this point (Monday, August 24, 10:45 EST) win this auction and do not want the vehicle, I will refund their money. However, any bidders bidding after this time, will be buying the car as I stated, not running. The car will have to be hauled away on a trailer. Ebay will not let me go into my original posting and edit the part where I say it is running. So PLEASE READ THIS PART!!! If you have any questions please let me know! Thanks you!
