Up for sale is my cherished "Blue Subie" that has been a daily driver for nearly 3 years (since 9/2012). Originally bought it certified pre-owned from the Subaru dealership in Morristown, N.J in Sept. 2012. Has 41,484 lovingly-driven miles. 2nd owner. Has been well-cared for and all maintenance records have been scrupulously kept. The exterior paint and body is in excellent condition, with only a few very minor surface scratches that you can see. It has three almost invisible dings and one very small windshield glass stone chip, probably repairable (see "Condition Description" above). The interior is also in excellent shape, clean throughout, with no odors whatsoever. There is a little water spotting on the seats, nothing too noticeable. The wheels are in great condition with only one or two very small scuffings on the silver alloy rims. It has no mechanical problems whatsoever. Runs and drives terrifically! Overall, this is a like-new car, quite nice both inside and out! You may be thinking, "Yeah, well, it's got three dings and a stone chip", but I wanted to mention these things to get them out of the way first, so I can then mention and focus on "the good"! Full disclosure, transparency, and trust is critical in any transaction. Out of admiration for the car, and respect for you, the buyer, I may be overstating these very minor flaws. The truth is, this car looks beautiful! (On a side note, buyer beware of any listings of vehicles that do not make mention of any dings, flaws, or chips. Most dings, even dime-sized ones or larger, do not show up even in high-res photos unless the photo was taken from 2-3 feet away and at a 45º angle! As I said, perhaps I'm making too much fuss over trifles. But it is mostly out of a spirit of fairness and being a bit of a perfectionist in car care. This would make a great car to go to and from work in. It has just an outstanding combination of comfort, smooth ride, stability, safety, pep and power. This car definitely delivers in the performance department and the comfort department! The 6-speed automatic transmission can be manually paddle-shifted up or down at any time which makes for quick acceleration for the times you need it. Avg. MPG per the digital trip/mpg computer is 26.7 mpg. RECENT MAINTENANCE PERFORMED: • 7/21/15: Brake system flush of entire brake system done at Suburu dealership in Morristown, NJ. This service included a check of the system for leaks or wear and replacement of the brake fluid uisng a dealer-supplied product. During the service, a complete, multi-point mechanical and physical inspection was carried out and the following was found: The rear brake pads were found to be due for replacement soon. They have 3 mm (3/32") left on them - does not require immediate action, according to the service report. I will be making an appointment to have this job done in the very near future in preparation for this sale. Job was quoted at $299 parts + labor at the Subaru dealership. All other systems checked out fine. • 5/8/15: Cabin air filter replaced. • All oil changes, air filter changes, and tire rotations, have been done at manufacturer-recommended intervals over the almost 3 years I've had the car. Oil changes have been done with original Subaru oil filters (I have a new, extra one w/gasket that I will include with the sale). • In the last 3 years there also have been bulb replacements for 3 different lights and a rear wiper blade replacement, as well as fluid top offs whenever needed. -------- The above is all of the maintenance/repair history that exists for this vehicle, besides the standard oil & filter changes, and light bulb changes! This car has been a problem-free dream to own and drive and this "Blue Subie Thunder" is a road-proven winner. Ready to give many more years of driving comfort and quality performance to the new owner. -------- ALL MAINTENANCE IS FULLY VERIFIABLE & DOCUMENTED IN A DEDICATED BINDER ------- WARRANTY: (see last two photos) This car comes with a fully, in-force original Subaru warranty, the Subaru Added Security® "Gold Plus" Plan. I bought the plan the same day I purchased the car, 9/22/12. Paid $2,000 with a $0 deductible. This warranty plan is fully transferable to the buyer. Actually, it doesn't have to be transferred at all, as the coverage was bought for the car, and once the new owner has the title, the coverage will be in effect for the term of the plan. The Agreement Effective Date is Sept. 22, 2012. It covers, during the term of the coverage (7 years or 100k mi., whichever comes first), the cost of any breakdown of the following parts, minus the deductible, which in this case is $0: 1. Engine - engine block, cylinder heads, all internal lubricated parts, camshaft drive belts, intake manifold, flywheel, valve covers, oil sending unit, oil pan, oil pump, motor mounts, seals and gaskets,. 2. Transmission - transaxle case, all internal parts, torque converter, modulator, transmission mounts, seals and gaskets. 3. All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Rear differential assembly, all internal parts, axle shafts, constant velocity joints, double offset joints, propeller shaft, center suport bearings, universal joints, wheel bearings and spindle, rear torsion bars and control arms, seals and gaskets. 4. Cooling & Fuel - Radiator, heater core, engine fans and fan motors, water pump, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank, and fuel sending unit. 5. Steering - steering rack assembly, all internal parts, steering column shaft and coupling, universal joints, power steering pump, seals and gaskets. 6. Front Suspension - MacPherson struts, transverse links/control arms, shafts and bushings, ball joints, steering knuckles, wheel bearings, stabilizer bar and bushings, seals and gaskets. 7. Brakes - Master cylinder, power brake assist unit, anti-lock braking system, traction control system, wheel cylinders, pressure holding valve (hill holder), hydraulic lines and fittings, disc brake calipers, seals and gaskets. 8. All parts not listed under Parts Covered are not covered under this Agreement. Examples of those items not covered would be: Battery, clutch disc, tires, brake drums, disc brake rotors, brake shoes or pads, shock aborbers, oil, grease, coolant or air conditioner refrigerant, hoses, belts, and pulleys. "During the term of the Agreement, Subaru will pay the cost of any breakdown less your deducitble, except for the following: Scheduled maintenance services and parts described in the Subaru Warranty and Service booklet for your vehicle and other normal maintenance services and parts including engien tune-up, suspension alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubricants, engine coolant, fluidds, wiper blades, belts, hoses, spark plugs, brake pads, linings and shoes, clutch disc and recharging of the air conditioning system, unless in conjunction with the replacement of a covered air conditioning part. Other parts not covered are glass, weatherstrips, lenses, sealed beams, light bulbs, tires, hard and soft trim, moldings, bright metal, upholstery, paint, exhaust system, catalytic converter, brake rotors and drums, shock aborberts, air suspension assembly, battery, rust damage, wind noise, squeaks, rattles and cable or linkage adjustments. Accessories are covered only if factory installed or approved. Also part of the coverage: Car rental expense: When a covered breakdown disables your car, making it inoperable or unsafe to drive, and that breakdown requires your car to be in a shop overnight for covered repairs, we will pay your actual expenses to rent a replacement car up to $30 per day for a maximum of $150, for any one breakdown. Towing and road service: When a covered breakdown disables your car, making it inoperable or unsafe to drive, we will pay for towing and emergency road service labor up to $50, provided such labor is performed at the scene of the breakdown. Also, this Gold Plus plan entitles you to the following benefits: towing to the nearest authorized Subaru dealership or repiar facility required as a result of a covered breakdown; flat tire change (with your good spare); battery boost (jump start); emergency fuel delivery and lockout assistance. In most instances, services will be provided on a "sign and drive" basis at no cost to you (up to a max. of $100). Road Hazard Tire Protection (Gold Plus Plan): Your original tires will be covered during the first 50,000 miles of the plan term against repairable leaks or punctures from potholes, nails, glass and other road hazards not covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty. We will pay a prorated cost up to $300 for a repair or replacement based on remaining tire tread. Traveler Assistance Benefits (Gold Plus Plan): You are also eligible for the following: Computerized Lost Key Retrieval System, Trip Routing and Map Service, Auto and RV Rental Discounts, location of the nearest Subaru dealer, hotel, travel or rental car agency, and other benefits. Certain of these benefits are not available in every state. Trip Interruption Expense (Gold Plus Plan): When a covered breakdown disables your car, making it inoperable or unsafe to drive and you remain in the vicinity of the breakdown awaiting repairs, we will pay actual expenses for lodging and meals for you and your family up to a limit of $500, provided the breakdown occurs more than 50 miles from your home. On Aug-14-15 at 13:48:39 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATED PAYMENT INFO FOR ALL OUT-OF-STATE BUYERS: I've spoken to my bank branch here in town that holds the title and found out that once I pay the payoff amount on the remaining loan amount (which is much less than what this car will sell for, btw), my branch should have the title for me in my name in 48 hours. Then, once I have the title now in my name, I will then sign it over to you, the buyer, and then Fedex overnight it to you. At that point, the signed-over title shows that ownership has in effect been transferred to you. You can then contact the DMV of your state to finalize registration details, plates, etc. As soon as you take mail delivery from me of the signed-over title, you can then hire the carrier to ship it to you. By that time I will have already removed the plates and done all the final preparations before it's shipped out.
