Vehicle Detail

I bought this truck to do a total restoration and health has prohibited that from happening. This truck was bought from Billie Hester's family. He was the original owner and had many cars in NASCAR in the 1950's His cars, driven by Gober Sosebee won 2 Daytona Beach Championships from 1950-1955. A ton of Modified wins and their sparse venture into the NASCAR Grand National scene (Winston Cup) produced two wins and eleven top ten finishes in only sixty starts. Both Hester and Sosebee have been inducted into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. Go to georgia racing history on Google and search for billie-hester-and-the-cherokee-garage and read up on the Story of Billie Hester and the Cherokee Garage. Own a piece of history and have a great project truck to tell all you friends about. I have not driven the truck and bought it to do a frame off restore. It has a 292 ci V-8 with an automatic transmission. The color is black and has some rust and only a few rust throughs. The doors are tight and same with hood. The operate very soundly. The passenger door does have a dent, but easily straightened. The engine appears to be original and since Billie Hester "Built" engines, he could have done or had any engine he wanted in his daily driver. Don't see any work done on it, that is obvious to me. The interior is in Very Good condition. It appears that the seat was reupholstered but done correctly. No rips or tear. Dash excellent condition, as are all gauges. Original radio still installed. Floor mat in excellent shape. Windows both operate, but driver and passenger window do have a crack. No leaks on the windows though. Can't say enough about the overall condition of the truck. I looked for months and never have I seen one, with this age in this good of shape. There a lot of "Rust" buckets out there, sitting in fields. It has not been restored, but been garage kept and overall condition for 1959 would be very good. These are my opinions and hope you would agree. Bid on the truck with confidence. I am a long time eBayer and check out my rating. I expect full payment within three (3) days of the auction and will provide a clean, notarized Bill of Sale on this vehicle. This vehicle is sold, as is, where is, with no warranty given or implied. This is a used vehicle and conditions as stated are my opinion. If you are interested and have any questions, please message me and if you need me to call to answer any questions, please say so in your message and give me your cellphone number to call. I will try to promptly return all calls. On Aug-05-15 at 06:47:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I bought this truck to do a total restoration and health has prohibited that from happening.
