The family vacation is drawing near so I've priced this rare BJ42 diesel LandCruiser for a quick sale! Mechanically sound 3B 4 cylinder diesel engine, 4speed manual with hi/lo 4x4. No rust, I went around the whole body with a magnate and found no bondo! It has had some restoration work, I can tell the floor pans have been replaced, which is nice because they're usually rusted through. I can't find any body cancer any where, it's pretty clean. Frame is solid! I can also tell that its had some steering work done to it. All the tie rods, steering, drag link, bushings etc. are tight, new looking and performs well at highway speeds. Body could use a paint job, otherwise a good cruiser. You could put a few bucks into it and flip it for way more than you bought it for, or just drive it as is. The motor runs great and does not use oil or leak. Exhaust smokes at cold start up, but goes away after a few seconds. I've seen these motors with over 1 million kilometers on them. At 224k miles this one has lots of life left in it! The BJ42 has a slightly longer wheel base than the BJ40/FJ40 so it performs better at highway speeds. It also has front disk brakes. I found a slow leak coming from the transfer case output shaft seal today. This part costs $10.87 from Toyota and I should have it tomorrow, at which point I will try to get to it, or just send it off with the cruiser.
