Sorry if I get a little long-winded describing this car, but this car has been our baby since day one. Very difficult, but the time has come to part with our C6 Corvette convertible. We have now ordered a new 2016 C7 Corvette, garage room and limited driving of the car dictate that it would be best for us not to have two similar cars. I ordered this Z51 convertible in beautiful exterior Monterey red - color code 80U. This is a stunning color, very unique and gets a ton of compliments. It was one of only two "premium tint coats" offered that year at a $750.00 upgrade option. We saw the Vette in this Monterey red color - and that was it, we were sold! We then ordered it to have it equipped exactly as desired. This car was never on a dealer lot, or stored outside prior to sale. Interior is cashmere leather seating, with black contrasts for dash and door panels. Convertible top is matching cashmere in color. Also, matching cashmere carpet. All interior seating, dash, door panels, carpet and convertible top fabric are in excellent condition, and consistent with the vehicles overall condition. Everything functions exactly as it should. VERY LOW MILES @ 22737 (could change slightly if driven before final sale) and at that, almost exclusively highway miles. The “highway miles term” gets over used, but we live in a rural country area, with open country roads. My wife and I have taken the car each Thanksgiving to Anderson S.C. for the family holiday - that alone represents approximately 11,000 of those miles, on the highway. While on the highway at 70 mph this car barley idles thanks to the 6 speed over-drive transmission, while getting basically 30 m.p.g. It can also get up and go! With the ability to drive in true auto-matic mode, or 6 speed steering wheel manuel paddle shifing mode. A ton of horsepower, with great fuel economy. This car has been pampered from the get-go, I ordered it for my wife as an wedding anniversary present. Obviously, a one owner only vehicle, mature adult(s) non-smoker(s). Stored only in a climate controlled garage from day one, often with a custom fit "Weathershield" HP dust cover. That cover was also used in the event of outdoor parking of any decent duration for U.V. protection, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. In addition to the care and condition of this Vette, I have spent approximately $8,000 in upgrades, as this vehicle has truly been a passion of ours, and not just a car - more so than any car I have ever owned to date. This is not your everyday looking C6 Vette that you see driving around town. Most recently, the SR1 chrome wheel package, with (4) new Hankook (Ventus 12 EVO F245/40/ZR18 fronts – F285/35/VR19 rears) high performance tires. The wheels were the best looking I have seen, researched many for months. They really pop with the Monterey red powder-coated brake calipers. The extra deep 3" lip on the rears, and 2" on the front, they are stunning compared to typical "flat dimension" wheels. This was just done at 19,0000 miles. The car has an awesome throaty exhaust sound (like a Corvette should) due to the genuine GM high performance added exhaust. The large 4” exhaust polished tubes look as good as they sound. The interior has been after market upgraded in exact factory matching Monterey red code 80U console with leather padded console rest, and Monterey left/right dash pods, a huge improvement over the flat dull silver stock items. This vehicles paint shines like a "wet" newer look, NO body damage, or obvious scrapes, scratches, dents, dings, etc. about as clean as a 2006 Vette could be, all maintenance performed regularly, Mobil 1 full synthetic oil only. Extremely well maintained Convertible Corvette that will turn heads everywhere!. No it does not, Ebay (Kelley blue book does the same) automatically list it as a "base Corvette" if it is the non-Z06 model. So all non Z06's are by (their) definition "base Corvettes" This car is the 2LT trim package.
