Vehicle Detail
Hello My fellow Bronco fanatics! I learned how to drive a vehicle in the summer of 1993 at the age of 13. My uncle had come to visit us on our farm in Iowa after leaving the Marines and gave me my first lessons with his early model Ford Bronco. Needless to say I have desired this truck ever since. I moved out of Iowa to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006 and in 2012 finally chased my dream and bought this truck. It felt like it was meant to be because after searching for the right candidate for months, I ended up finding this truck for sale at a dealership in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which is a neighboring city of the one I grew up in. I flew back to Iowa and bought the truck for $5000 with the intentions of completing a frame on restoration. Almost immediately after purchasing, I dropped the truck off at Sperry motors in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to have the engine completely rebuilt. They are a well established and highly regarded engine builders. Keeping only the engine block, I had everything else replaced with new high end parts, spending around $8500 total between the engine rebuild and other miscellaneous parts replaced. Here is the breakdown. Engine:-Magnetic particle inspection of engine block for cracks. It came back in perfect shape-New Keith Black Hyper Flat Top Pistons-New Elgin Cam Shaft-New Titanium Headers-New Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Cylinder Heads-New Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold chrome-New Edelbrock Carburetor-New High Output Alternator Chrome-New MSD Pro Billet Distributor -New MSD Master Blaster 2 coil-New MSD Digital 6al ignition control box-New Hi Torque Starter.(you can start the truck in gear if needed)-New Bronco Script Valve Covers-New Billet Aluminum Crankshaft and Water Pump Pulley-new water pump-New Oil Pan-New Clutch Kit-New radiator -New Aluminum Race Fan-Engine block repainted Ford blue-the engine dyno'd over 420 horsepower I also had Sperry Motors replace the following:-New 23 gallon Aluminized Heavy Duty Steel rear gas tank with sending unit-New stock auxiliary gas tank-New stock suspension and shocks-New rpm gauge-New back lit instrument panel with selectable colors-New fuel selector-New HID headlights -New dual exhaust The owner before me had a new interior put in the truck, including dashboard, carpet, headliner and seats. He also had the hard top sandblasted and rhinolined, with new tinted glass put in. Overall this bronco is a great candidate for restoration which was my original plan. It has a solid frame and the body shows typical rusts patterns common to a Bronco of this age.It was amazing how many notes were left on the windshield complementing me on this beauty the first year I was driving it around. I even had a few interested parties in purchasing it if I ever wanted to sell! A lot of the heavy lifting has already been completed. I had hoped to complete the second phase of restoration, adding power steering, power disc brakes, new transmission and a new transfer case but sadly my life became incredibly busy after the first year of owning it and it has been sitting in a storage unit in Iowa City, Iowa since 2013. I recently was hired for a new job which is going to move me to South East Asia for foreseeable future. It pains me to let this truck go but I don't realistically see myself having time to have work done on it so Ive decided to pass it on to another enthusiast out there that can give it the attention it deserves. My Mother has been maintaing the truck since 2013, starting it up and driving it around once a month. I bought the truck with odometer reading 42,626 miles. I would assume the actually miles before engine rebuild at 142,626. The odometer currently reads 47,226, putting 4600 miles on the truck since the engine rebuild and other parts were added.I do have a video of the truck that my mother took of it running. If you would like it, please feel free to message me and I can email it to you. I'm also open to phone calls if there are more details that you would like. 510-504-9747 The truck is sold as is. It is located in Iowa City, Iowa. You will have to make arrangements for pickup and shipping. This truck is capable of driving anywhere though if you are up for the adventure.I will accept cash in person, cashiers check or bank transfer There is a $500 non refundable deposit due 48 hours after the auction. I have set the reserve price below $5000. Somebody will be taking this beauty home.On Jul-24-15 at 08:57:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello My fellow Bronco fanatics!
