Vehicle Detail

General Information Up for sale is my Triple Black 1972 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. Car was originally purchased at Jack Schmidt Oldsmobile in Columbus, Ohio, and I purchased it in 1998 from the original owner (a work associate). When I purchased it, it only had approximately 56,000 miles, and now has only 61,300 miles. Basic reason for selling it is we rarely drive or show it any more, and we're concerned that it will just get ruined from sitting in storage. When we did show the car, it was a consistent trophy winner at local car shows, and always placed first or second at our regional Oldsmobile show. In addition, it was a past Best of Show winner in the Oldsmobile category at the annual prestigious Arthritis Foundation Classic Car Show in Dublin, Ohio. Included with the car is the original proteco-plate, owners manual, consumer information, emission controls, and warranty booklets, dealers brochures, service manual, original floor mats, a never used trunk liner rubber mat (I like the felt one better), and other miscellaneous items of Oldsmobile memorabilia. Also have the original window sticker. It is somewhat faded, but I had it laminated to preserve it. Overall Condition All numbers match, the car runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. A few weeks ago we did bring the car home and got caught in a traffic jam and could not move much for about 45 minutes. The car idled like a new car, and showed no signs whatsoever of overheating. The engine bay is well detailed, as is the undercarriage. For a 43 year old car, the interior is very well preserved, and the dash area is exceptional. Convertible top is in excellent shape and goes up and down perfectly. A/C blows ice cold. Tires and wheels are in great shape. Trunk compartment is in outstanding condition. Car was repainted about five years ago, and several rusty areas were repaired with new metal. The paint shop did a good job with the paint, but I'm very picky, and I'd say it wasn't a perfect job. To Be Perfect I've maintained this car very well over the years, and have tried to keep it as original as possible, and have put numerous new parts on the car. But it is 43 years old, and it is not a perfect car. Nor do I portray it to be. Here's the items that I know of that the new owner might want to take a look at, at some point in time. Most are just minor annoyances: Minor paint bubbles around right rear wheel well molding, some fraying in the seams on the back of drivers seat, needs a new drivers side mirror (mirror is functional, but remote cable is broken), could use some wet sanding on the very bottom of the rear panels (you have to lay on your back and look up to see the few dull areas), speedometer works fine, but the cable sometimes makes a noise, and the windshield washer does not work. Also, the original am/fm radio does come on and play, but not that well anymore. Even at that, the car scored 198 out of 200 hundred possible points at last years regional all Oldsmobile Show. Conclusion I've honestly described the car, but if you're looking for a perfect car, this is not the car for you, so please don't bother. But if you're looking for a real head turner, that's great for cruising with the top down, and for taking to local and regional car shows, you might want to consider this one. Of course, there is no warranty of any type with the car, and the car will not be released until your cashiers check or wire transfer has cleared my bank, with full payment expected within ten days of the auction end. And most certainly, cash is accepted. I'd also like a $500 good faith deposit within 48 hours of the auction end. Shipping is the buyers responsibility, and while I don't know anything about shipping, I'll be glad to help in any way I can. I'll be glad to answer any questions through email.Good luck, and thanks for 'kicking the tires' on my Oldsmobile.
