Vehicle Detail
This is a fully assembled BBR Motorsports XR200 kit. If you've found this auction, odds are you already know what it is, how rare they are, and the original cost of building one. Basically you purchased the frame kit from BBR($3200), then you bought an xr200 for the engine and electronics, and a cr80 or cr80 big wheel for the sub frame, wheels, suspension, seat, and body work to complete the bike. Or BBR would build you a complete one for about $9000. This one was built using a donor cr80 big wheel so it has the bigger wheels. http://www.bbrmotorsports.com/News/PressRelease/Content/DirtRider_July2001/DirtRider_July2001.htm http://www.bbrmotorsports.com/Products/ProductGenerator.aspx?Prod=350-BBR-1009&Print=true - This shows the crf230 kit, the xr200 kit was basically the same except didn't include the battery tray as the xr is kick start only. This is a great bike for the rider who is too short for a full size bike but isn't happy with an overweight play bike and the poor suspension they are sold with. Bike was purchased by a shorter friend who unfortunately recently passed away. I'm guessing it would work for someone 5ft 6 or shorter but still has almost 11 inches of suspension travel and quality forks and shock. This one is overall in very good shape. The bike originally was made to accept cr125 radiator shrouds. The previous owner put a nut on each side of the frame so he could use smaller cr80 shrouds on it. The cr125 shrouds were big for the bike, stuck out and eventually got caught up and pulled the inserts used to mount the shrouds out of the tank. He repaired/replaced the inserts and with the current smaller cr80 shrouds the repair hasn't been a problem. I checked the tanks are still available from BBR if you wanted to replace it ($169.00). Since we already had the parts I just installed new fenders, shrouds (cr80), side panels, and front number plate. Also new is the graphics kit, spark plug and air filter. Seat cover looks new (if a little lumpy). Bike starts and runs fine and xr200's are very dependable engines. It's too small for me but my friend said it was a much better bike than the crf230 she rode. It is also roughly 50lbs. lighter than a CRF230. I will not ship this bike, but if you make the arrangements with a shipper I will deliver it to them within 50 miles of Colorado Springs, Colorado. I will also drain the fuel and engine oil if the shipper requires it. I will also deliver it to you within the Colorado Springs area (50 mile radius). As this is an off-road only motorcycle there is no title with it. My friend planned on using this bike on longer trail rides so she purchased an Acerbis auxiliary fuel tank that mounts on the front forks. It was an open package but never used and looks like all the parts are with it. I will include this with the auction and mail it to you separately if you want it.
