I am relisting as first buyer deal fell through. Up for sale is my 1978 beetle convertible. I have owned her since 2004 but due to lack of space its time to sell. Runs great. Fuel injected starts up every time. I bought her from California. I only drive her on the weekends. Top is in great condition as are the tires & rubber window seals. Brand new battery. to the best of my knowledge this car is in great shape. When I put a magnet anywhere it sticks tight. The only work I can see is a replacement floor pan on drivers side which was installed well. Since I bought the car it only gets wet when I wash it. I keep her parked inside my garage. The odometer has not worked since I bought it. It reads 15513. In 2000 the previous owner spent $2400 at Daves German auto in San Jose to rebuild the engine. He then spent $550 on a muffler, distributor, rotor & plugs. In 2002 he installed a new catalytic converter. The car passed California smog test in 2003. I have all the above receipts. What does this car need to improve it? Brakes probably need new drums. I would estimate life at about 20% left. On the hood is a hole that looks like somebody stuck a screwdriver into it. It was there when I bought it. Drivers seat has a small tear on back which was there when I bought her. This is a fun car that I just don't have any room for any more.
