up for auction is a very nice 1977 pontiac grand prix SJ. 45000 original one owner miles. first the history of the car : i bought this car from a lady whose husband bought it new. this (according to her) was his baby. he passed away about ten years ago and the car has basically been sitting in the garage ever since. it was used in 2011 for a wedding and that was the last time it was used until i purchased it about a week ago. i replaced the master cylinder, cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes and bled all four brakes. the brake pads and shoes are in good condition and the brakes now work great. condition : the body is all original including the paint, but being a 38 year old car, it is not perfect. there are a few dings and scratches but nothing major. there is some minor rust on the lower part of the rear quarter panels but the metal is still very solid. no soft spots. there is some rust under the leather top around the rear windows. there is a fair amount of checking in the paint on the trunk lid and on the leading edge of the hood but is not that noticeable unless you are standing right next to the car. the rest of the paint looks and shines good. not much to say about the interior other than flawless. leather trimmed seats, carpet, dash, headliner, door panels, woodgrain trim, all in excellent condition. power windows, cruise control, clock, wipers, washers, gauges, horn, heater and heat controls all work as they should. the AM FM 8 track radio does not work. it powers on but no sound. the air conditioning also is not working but everything is there. the motor runs great. choke and fast idle work as they should and fires right up. the transmission shifts as it should. the car runs and drives great. the tires are goodyear invictas and are like new. the factory pontiac wheels and trim rings are also in great condition. the inside of the trunk looks like new. the underbody is in great condition and basically rust free. included with the car are four new wheel well chrome trim pieces from GM. also included are the original window sticker, build sheet and owners manuals. have clear and current title. i have done my best to point out all the flaws in this car. with that said, this car is a beautiful, well preserved classic that basically needs nothing but a new owner to start enjoying the fun of classic car motoring. terms : $500 nonrefundable deposit via paypal within 48 hours of end of auction. the remaining balance due within two weeks of end of auction can be paid by cash upon pickup. no money orders of any kind will be accepted. if paid by check the car will not be released until check clears.
