Vehicle Detail

This is a 136... VIN V8 Malibu with what we believe to be the factory SS-option. The car is a complete restoration project. It does not have the engine or transmission. It does have the 12-bolt differential and a clear title. The tag is also current. The car will roll and steer with ease. It will be easy to transport. There is not a ton of rust in this car. The trunk and floor seem fairly solid. I do not see any rust-through. The front fenders behind the front wheels will need attention as there is a fair of amount of rust in these areas. The car will again need a complete restoration. 1969 is a difficult year to determine if a car is a "true" SS collector car. Without the build sheet it is almost impossible to tell. The indicators that lead me to believe there is a high probability that this may be an SS car are the following. The door panels (which have the SS logo on them) appear to be age appropriate and correct for the car. The front parking lights have chromed bezels rather than plain bezels. All of the badging on this car including the rear badge in the middle appear to be of a similar age and seem to be original. The 12-bolt rear differential and bucket seats (although were options available to any Malibu) are appropriate for the SS option on this vehicle. The floor-mounted shifter, 6000-rpm tach, and round speedometer lend to the SS option. Although any of these can be disputed or changed out, these options seem to be original to this car. They seem to have a consistency with the age of the car, and several collectors have viewed this car and seem to be in agreement. Other than the orange or yellow exterior paint scheme, there is no way without a factory build sheet to know for sure, but the indicators certainly point to that direction. As best we can tell there have been two previous owners. I just purchased this car this week, and today found my dream car (a factory 930 Slantnose Porsche), which is the only reason I am selling this car. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks again for taking the time to look. This car is an excellent candidate for any restoration. Thanks again.
