Vehicle Detail
1975 Plymouth Roadrunner I want to start off saying alot of the mid 70s Muscle cars got a bad wrap over the yrs for not having the HP of their predecessors. Sure its about HP and 1/4 mile times and bragging rights, but now a days its also more about remembering a time of when you where growing up and maybe you raced cars like this on the street or had friends who had one like it. Ive been driving this car around town and I was really expecting a pig, I have to admit to my surprise, this car gets out of its own way very well for its yr, make and model. Step on the gas pedal and the torque pushes you back in the seat just enough to remind you, yeah, its still a Muscle Car. Let me also mention in 1975 only 7183 true RM21 Roadrunners rolled off Plymouths assembly line, while a variety of engines where offered, this one came nicely optioned with a 360 2v along with AC, cruise and floor slapshift automatic trans. Out of 7183 cars built over 40 yrs ago, the number of them left on the planet are low, and how many with this engine option has to be a really low %. Many where wrecked, crashed or rusted away. This car has been in Arizona since it was new, bought in Tucson and has had only 1 real owner. Its a nice unmolested example of what 1975 had to offer. Meanwhile, seeing as prices and values off 73 and older Roadrunners are going thru the roof, seems to make sense now is the time to scoop up the later model units left on the road, because even though they may not be extremely valuable now, recent history has only proven that their values will only go up each yr and still considered a blue chip investment. out of Detroit in the mid 70s and a really hard time for the big 3 automakers. What else is great, next time you go to a local cruise night or cruise event chances are youll see several older Roadrunners in the line up or crowd, and youll probably have the only 1975 car. Theres something to be said about being different in the crowd and not having the same thing 5 others have at the same show. Also, most cars where torn apart and modded the piss out of trying to be the fastest on the block, unlike this car, where the lady owner who had it for 30+ yrs, enjoyed it basically the way it came off the showroom for many yrs as a daily driver, till it was parked back on 02. Some brief history about this particular 1975 Roadrunner from what we have gathered is, OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence. IF you cant pick it up yourself we can pallet the motor and ship it via truck frt too at the winners expense. Unless we can find a way for the trucking company to take it with them when they pick up the car. (its a possibility, yes) Im sure it will cost a little more either way to ship the drivetrain. Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. They always have a lot of fine print and loads of text about their rules on buying from them, but most tend to fail when it comes to posting large clear pics. NOT US !! EMAIL US WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE !! Car will drive onto a hauler no problem, or fly in and drive it home ! We can help getting it shipped all over the USA for a fair price quickly. Chances are people overseas will be bidding on this car, so we can easily get the car to the docks in LA Calif or Houston for a fair price and promptly if you need the help. IF you need a shipping quote, just email us with your city/state and Ill find out our best quote for you !! No problem helping it to the docks if you are shipping overseas . Alot of these cars go overseas and we can help for those buyers. We have had alot of experience in shipping cars worldwide . If there is a winner, please email me when the auction ends and say Hi and we can take it from there. Bank Wires need to be prompt if you are out of the country because they always seem to take longer then expected. I bank with B of A which makes things easy for many out of state for payment. direct deposit or Cashier checks If you wire the funds we must add a $50 fee that our bank charges us. must clear before car can move. Its a sign of the times, sorry. IF RESERVES NOT MET, email us anyway maybe we can work out a deal after it ends. Optional PAYPAL with a $500 deposit only - rest direct bank deposit or wire Or just ALL bank deposit, which we prefer to save on cost and time for everyone. On Mar-23-15 at 22:25:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I havent dropped the gas tank yet to find the broadcast sheet but I may do it this weekend AND I honestly cant figure out how to get the key out of the ignition. Anyone ? On Jun-21-15 at 21:45:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Description up top didnt get finished so Ill fix it here: Engine: the original matching #s 360 2v motor runs and drives greatfor tooling around town and or a roadtrip if you wanted. The car sat forabout 10 yrs and was recently put back on the road. during the process itgot a new fuel pump, water pump , brake master and aluminum factorystyle radiator and thermostat. It passed local emissions and has beenrunning great. It could probably still use a minor tune up if you wanted. ALSO Im throwing in the ORIGINAL radiator too in case you wanted to have it re-cored and put it back in for originality. The 727 auto transworks great and feels good, and the fluid is clean and looks great. It shifts like it should. In the back the factory DANA rearend is good too. Not sure what gears are in it , but the car scoots really well for being a 1975 model thats suppose to not be all the great. It really did surprise me on how well it runs. I did notice a small leak from the transmission which I think my be the rear seal where the driveshaft enters. Tires are a few yr old BFG T/A radials in great shape. The car came with factory AC and cruise control too. Both intact, but the AC blows, just not cold. Whats most impressive is how UNMOLESTED this car really is under the hood and its really a time capsule. Most people back in the day ripped out all the emissions stuff and tried to continue the race car trend on any Muscle Car back in the day, meanwhile this one being owned by an older lady, left well enough alone and kept it bone stock. Exterior: the original color was white w/ the factory Roadrunner stripes of course I think in Gold. Its had one repaint about 30 yrs ago and that was not done just okay, because there are a few areas like on the Hood, lF fender and L door where the paint just looks dry, flat and bad in person. BUT on the good side NO WHERE on the car do I see any areas of Accident or Rust repair or bondo, which again is almost impossible to find on a car this old these days. Repainting the car would be easier then most and if you put the factory stripe kit back on , it would look AMAZING. I do have some of the ROADRUNNER emblems that went on the 2 doors still loose sitting in the glovebox that are original to the car. Glass is all good, but the dr side window can be hard to roll down, my guess is the rollers are bad or dry and or the regulator is worn out. When the headlights are on they are Dim, and I believe maybe its a bad ground, while rest of the lights work fine front and rear. I did get a new lens for the LR 1/4 panel and Im popping that on this week. Interior: the all original interior has had some sun damage from being in Tucson all its life, but again, this is about the easiest stuff to fix when restoring a car like this. I did have the center console recovered (its off in a few of the pics) Ill have it back on this week with updated pics. Bucket seats and center console are really cool too. The car has a factory Tach which works and I think the other two gauges still work too. Radio probably needs at least a new speaker. Carpet is worn too and really if you clean up alot of the interior and replaced whats really worn out, it would look great in the end. Think the worse place the car got rust was from water getting in the trunk over the last 30 yrs or so (which in Tucson is not alot ) but the rubber mat did hold in some of the moisture over the many yrs and it got some rust in the trunk pan from the inside. Please check out the pics ABOVE so you can see what Im referring to. Suspension: basically all factory still, goes down the road fine too. Ive been driving the car around town some and on the freeway and its fun to drive and feels good. Shocks do feel a little soft and once in a while I hear a small clunk from the rear, so not sure what bushing back there is getting worn out yet. Could be coming from the shock too maybe. But its nothing horrible, just notable. I did lower the front torsion bars about an inch for a nicer stance but thats easily reversible if you didnt like it. THIS Is a super Rare Mopar that any collector Would love to have in their collection that would Make a fun daily driver too !! It wouldnt take much to restore it and would be a great investment
