This listing is for a reproduction of a1929 Ford Shay Model A Super Deluxe ConvertibleThis is a Model A replica that was built in 1980 and sold through Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury dealers, it is titled as a 1980. This beauty has had only one owner with 24,682 actual miles and all recommended maintenance has been performed. This Shay Model A was purchased at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership in Canton, Ohio. The owner has done some modifications to make the car more enjoyable. These modifications include: custom Capree top to eliminate wind noise and a larger rear window to eliminate a blind spot, installed a bearing block to take the play out of the steering system, shortened the steering shaft and lowered the steering wheel, advanced timing 5.5 degrees to improve fuel economy and performance, painted the undercarriage, installed correct rear view mirror, filled in gaps between instrument panel and windscreen, redesigned the windscreen seal, installed inside door handles, created locks for the hub caps, removed a leaf spring for more comfortable ride, fabricated Lexan vent and side windows to replace plastic windows, modified the rumble seat lid to hold the removable side windows, aligned and leveled the pedals to improve feel, installed original style cowl lights, installed original Duo Lamp taillights, installed an original Model A headlamp fender support cross bar, fabricated stronger horn mounts, fabricated front fender support bars to remove the front fender weep, replaced original stereo with AM/FM/CD player, extender leg room by removing extra padding in seat backs, installed manual ballcock heater control valve in the cab, installed manual wipers, RaixX on the windscreen, installed tinted windscreen, removed warm air induction system for carburetor, removed AIR pump and hardware, installed Cherry Bomb steel pack, installed period correct antique Anco vaccum fans, installed hood prop, installed 2 cup holders, fabricated latch assembly for the rack cover, installed interior light, created a tow feature.
