Vehicle Detail
Ok what we have here is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala....This car has been stored in a garage for the Last 45 years...it was last on the street in 1978. I got this car at an estate auction...It Has a DELAWARE Registration. This Chevy has VERY VERY MINIMAL RUST....Amazingly I was surprised myself...Bring your Magnet. When I got this car the interior was ragged...Cleaned most of it out...Chipmonks had a Field day in that garage!! NO JOKE. It has 40K ORIGINAL MILES on it. This is the Early Model with NO BOLT on the crank...With that said I took the TOP END off the motor...instead of trying to turn with a PRY BAR....Heads were EXTREMELY CLEAN as you would expect for a car with 40k Miles on it. I changed the OIL in the motor....after I had the TOP END apart and SPUN the OIL PUMP with my tool to make sure it was Properly working and getting the Oil Thru the JOURNALS after sitting so long. Excellent! Then I SLIGHTLY HONED the Top of each Cylinder just to get the "RIDGE" off the Top... And also Properly Lubricate. I then Reassembled the Top end of the car after also cleaning up the heads. I Put NEW>>>.Wires>>.Points>>>Plugs>>>Condensor>>Intake and Head Gaskets...and Fuel pump and belts. Then I set valve lash and timing....Blood was Pumping now with the anticipation of cranking this BABY over after it was sitting almost 45yrs>>>CAR GUYS KNOW THE FEELING!!,,,,,I Hooked up an Auxiliary Fuel Tank, not sure how inside of original tank was. Also filled the ORIGINAL RADIATOR>>>>NO LEAKS!....Gave it a Few Pumps of Gas HIT the Bump Switch>>>>>>And it did not start!!! Pissed me off! Expecting it to go over on the First Crank, but Quickly found out I did not have THE KEY ON!!! What a DUM AZZ!!! After I turned the key on it Fired Right up...Purrs like a KITTEN. Next to NO SMOKE out the Tail pipe. Jacked it up and added some tranny fluid and went thru the gears...It has a Two (2) Speed Powerglide and the motor is a 283. Let it run Over an Hour...It sounds great. This car does need some work to be ROADWORTHY....Brake Lines are Shot! I had a BLAST Driving it in the Cornfield with no BRAKES, Corn not in the ground yet or Grampa will WHOOOP my Butt and I'm 63. Looking to let the car go to the Right person...Not many of these Left in this Condition. It is a NO RESERVE AUCTION...you win it you Own it. Any and all questions Please feel free to ask. I only took the back seats out to get the trunk Open....Not like most would break the lock out....also Bought new trunk key and ignition switch...All OEM...Have the boxes>>>All Trim and Glass is there in EXCELLENT CONDITION...EXCEPT for passengers side front door Strip...Think someone snatched it when nobody was around...OH WELL....HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!!!!NO RESERVE>>>NO RESERVE>>>>I have Many Many more pictures of the car to many to Post...Possibly Partial Delivery available for a "FEE">>NOT....NOT FREE!!On Jun-03-15 at 20:59:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Car is also FOR SALE Locally and can and will be removed from Sale for any and all reasons I seem fit...And PLEASE do not ask what I am selling it Locally for...Again Thanks! On Jun-04-15 at 09:57:03 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: Sorry I forgot to add for those who do not observe the Pictures very well...it is a (4) DOOR CAR....as you can determine in the 4th and 5th Picture, the Rear seat was removed to get in to the Trunk...did not want to break Lock off like most people do. I also Bought a NEW OEM Trunk Lock for the car...and also ignition switch.QUESTIONS just ask!!!!
