Vehicle Detail
That's Right. Another fantastic NO RESERVE auction brought to you byAutowerks of Northbrook."Few automobiles can claim to be instant classics. The thrilling new 300 CE Cabriolet might be one of them" claimed advertising introducing the 1993 E- Class Cabrio to the United States market. Truer words have never been spoken if one considers how much owners covert them and the prices buyers are willing to pay decades later today. Lacking a four-passenger convertible since the last 1971 280 SE model was produced, Mercedes began developing such prototypes based on the hardtop coupe version of the company's midsize 124 body during 1990. Engineering was complete on the cabrio in 1991 allowing it to make its debut at the Frankfort Auto show. Factory production began in December of 1991 and European markets received their first cabrios as 1992 models. United states models had a limited run from 1993-1995 making this car a true collectible. The 3.2 liter engine retained its 24-valve cylinder heads for better intake with a hp of 217 and tq of 229. Giving this touring cabrio noticeable low end grunt. This particular car is in overall fantastic condition. Everything works as it should down to the ice cold air. This car spent its life in Florida at its Chicago residents winter home. It was a "Snowbird" car, driven rarely when the absentee owners vacationed. It was portered weekly and stored at a Mercedes dealership during the off season. This car spent its life with an open checkbook maintenance campaign. Basically if something broke it was fixed or more importantly, if something could break.....IT WAS REPLACED!Overall excellent condition. A Few scratches. A door ding or two and a slightly worn driver seat are all you will find wrong with this collectible. It runs so well, I flew to Florida, drove it down to the Keys and decided to drive it back to Chicago. Built in K40 and aftermarketsstereo add to the enhancements of this fantastic Benz.Bid with confidence and Bid to win. This will go to the high bidder who will be extremely happy.I am always open to interesting trades or offers to end the auction early. Please note, if you offer me a 1995 Saturn or $750.00 I will ignore your question or most likely reply with something smarta$$.
