A few years ago, I looked down at my 42 year old, middle-aged gut and said to myself, "Self... you need to wrap a sweet little BMW around yourself and start feeling young again." So I bought this sporty little BMW 323i from another middle-aged white dude with a sizable midsection and ditched the old mini-van. Instantly I felt 10 years younger as I whipped around the neighborhood, and chances are that you will, too! A little over a year later, I realized that someone was always missing whenever I took the family somewhere... turns out that this is a 5 passenger car. That's great, but my wife and I have 4 kids. Now that I see the error of my ways, I need to part with my little mid-life-crisis-cure and choose to either emasculate myself with another mini-van or fund the terrorists with a gas-guzzling SUV. Decisions, decisions! That's okay, though, because my loss is your gain. You can now have this beautiful car simply by being the highest bidder. There is absolutely NO RESERVE and I'm starting this auction at a ridiculously low price. The highest bidder WILL own this car. That could be you! This BMW looks great and runs well, but it does have a few issues you should be aware of:Service Engine Soon light is on. Mechanic tells me that the following codes are being reported when they hook it up to their device:246 Secondary Air System 2 Low Flow245 Secondary Air System 1 Low Flow146 Fuel System Small Leak I recommend you have your own inspection performed to verify these codes and approximate cost of repair. Slow oil leak is present. Mechanic tells me that the oil pan gasket needs to be replaced.Paint and body is in good condition overall. The biggest issue with paint and body is that the original cellular phone antenna that was in the rear center of the roof is missing. Previous owner backed out of his garage when the door was too low and ripped it right out. The hole was filled in with repair putty by hand and painted improperly. A local auto body shop gave me an estimate of $300 to repair and repaint the roof properly. I didn't think that it was noticeable enough to warrant the expense, but you should be aware of the issue.Any other noticeable dents and scratches are shown in the pictures and are very minor.One of the front grilles was replaced with an aftermarket part. Colors of the grooves are slightly different. I will provide the matching aftermarket part for the other side of the grille.Finally, the clock is set to the wrong time and the control to set the time does not work. But this just gives you a good reason to sing Chicago's "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" every time you get in the car. So this may be a bonus!Overall the car is in good condition for its age and mileage. I believe that I'm the third owner. It is and has been a non-smoker car. No dead bodies have been transported in the trunk. The tires have at least half their life left and will not need replacing anytime soon. With a little bit of love the car should last for a few more good years of great driving. Final ThoughtsThis is an unbelievably fun car to drive, especially with the Sequential Sport Shift transmission! You have the control and power of a manual stick-shift, without the hassle of dealing with a clutch. So if you've been watching the Fast and the Furious series and thinking, "Wow... I'd love to do all that, but I don't know how to drive a stick!", this may be the chance of a lifetime. Of course, you can just leave it in full automatic for easy driving.The car looks great and still turns heads like any other BMW. You may have to invest a little bit in minor repairs to take care of the issues listed above, but a quality car like this is worth it. BMW is called the Ultimate Driving Machine for a reason.
