Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder Convertible. It currently has a little over 103,000 miles and is still running well. This car has the original soft-top which is still functional in that it keeps the rain off of your head but aesthetically it has a few rips and tears in it so you may want to consider getting a new soft-top in a year or two. The bumper is losing a bit of its clear-coat finish so keep that in mind when bidding. Other than that, this car looks and runs great. I am still driving this to and from work twice a week so mileage may change slightly from the time of posting this listing. As this is a sale from a private seller (I am an avid ebayer but I am not a car dealer) and the car is 15 years old, I am selling this As-Is. You should expect to have some minor maintenance costs for this car over the next few years but I have no doubt that it can go for many more miles and years (it is a Toyota after all). Additional Items of note (stuff a dealer would probably never tell you!) :I am the 2nd owner and purchased vehicle when it had a little over 10k miles on it (had it about 12 years now)Aftermarket stereo is included with the car.Parking Brake cable needs re-calibration or replacement as it doesn't work very well. Recommend you keep it in 1st when parking and avoid parking on steep inclinesSoft-top still functions and goes up/down but it does have some holes and tears to be expected for its age. It is the original soft-top with glass rear window. Search on ebay for replacement tops if you are considering replacing this. There is some deterioration of the clear-coat finish on the bumper. The car body clear coat is fine but the plastic bumper does not seem to hold the clear-coat as well for some reason.P0440 nuisance light is common. The car still gets 30mpg and just passed emissions without issue just a few weeks ago. I have had this idiot light for about 7 years now and just ignore/reset it when it comes on. Google "P0440 code" for more info. The car has the original timing belt, water pump, and clutch. The clutch does not slip at all and the gears shift nice and smooth. Belts look fine upon visual inspection. As I said the car is running well but these are some of the maintenance items to consider when purchasing. Conventional oil and filter changes religiously every 3-4k miles since purchased. I always change the filter with the oil.New front disc brake pads installed about a month ago. Rear brakes will probably need some new pads soon.Front Tires are at roughly 30-40% tread life remaining. Rear tires are at 10-20% remaining. Rear tires tend to wear faster than front tires as this is a RWD with mid-rear engine. Driver's side seat has a little "seat belt rash" from the seat belt rubbing on the outside shoulder of the seat. I am now using seat covers for the driver's side and will include an extra seat cover with the car if you want passenger side to match. There are a few minor parking lot dings on the side of the car - see pics.I am 6' 1" tall and am very comfortable in this car. It is much roomier inside than it looks from the outside. No knees in your ears while driving! Buyer is responsible for tax, tag, title fees associated with transferring title and registering the vehicle in his/her name. Please feel free to ask me any questions on this great car. I want the buyer to enjoy this sporty car as much as I have enjoyed it over the years! If you are in the North Metro Atlanta area and want to come take a look or test drive this car, just send me a message and we can set up a time for you to come by. Thanks for looking, Jason
