Vehicle Detail
I purchased this bike in Louisiana recently but now have to move on short notice. It's a solid bike mechanically, with the insane reliability that comes with older Honda bikes. It's a blast to ride and it's a truly unique piece of motorcycle history. History: This is the "tariff beater" counterpart to the VFR750 of the same year. It was created to avoid the harsh import tax levied on higher displacement bikes at the time. It was built to be in a whole different league from the usual 600 sport bikes that came later that decade. The quality of the components and carefully engineering really shows. The last owner worshiped this bike and took really good care of it. Mechanical: Everything is in top condition, no leaks, no rattles, no issues at all. I ride it every day to work. Fluids recently changed including clutch and brake by previous owner. Cosmetic: Scratches, chips and cracks on the fairings and likely on other parts like the exhaust. Paint is very bright and looks almost new. See pictures for details. Recently dropped onto left side = significant fairing damage as shown in pictures (look for the picture with my road rashed arm to see close up of damage) Modifications: The Kerker exhaust and rejetting appears to be the only modification. With the V4 engine and the exhaust note together, the bike has a very exotic and unmistakable sound. Look them up on youtube. Performance: Very fast for what it is. Great low end torque but still screams at the top end of the rev range. Feels faster than my CBR 600 from the same decade, despite having less horsepower on paper. Comfort: Riding position is a good middle ground between a touring bike and a sport bike. Very similar to a newer Ninja 650. Auction details: Please make payment through Paypal ASAP. I need this bike gone so I can drive across the country soon. Must make own arrangements for shipping, but I will be happy to communicate with you to facilitate this. Local pick up is okay as well. PLEASE, contact me with any questions before bidding/buying/etc. I will do everything in my power to describe this bike accurately. Title: Clear Louisiana title in hand (arrived on 4/29) Extras: I will include a used HJC helmet and the repair manual for the bike, if desired. Contact: Call, skype, text, whatever for any questions I can answer. 360-402-0223 Video of starting up this bike after several days of sitting in a garage: https://youtu.be/q-fqKvX-NWk
