This is one beautiful 1985 Honda ATC 250R and would be one of the nicest for your collection, and would make the most demanding collector envy it. The 1985 Honda ATC 250R is very hard to find today in this near new condition, and it would be very expensive to duplicate this ATC 250R, if one could even get all of the necessary parts to do so. The 85 is rare to begin with and I was very lucky to add this 1985 Honda ATC 250R to my collection early on when parts were still available, but have not seen another one like it in a long time. It would cost over twenty thousand to restore one today by the only professional left in the industry at Vintage Motorsports, along with a two year waiting list. So take this opportunity to buy this one now, and do not wait any longer to get one. The prices on these are only going up daily and will only increase in time as parts become completely unobtainable. This ATC is not designed to ride around on and has been sitting for over fifteen years in a collection fuel free, but could easily do so if fluids were added to it, and would ride and operate like a new machine. This is strictly a collector ATC and that is it, not for those looking for a cheap $2000.00 ATC, or to ride around on in the mud. I just don't think you will find another nicer 85 Model, its just that simple. This ATC does not have any after-market parts on it that would bring the original value of the machine down, and cause it not to be period correct. It is 100% complete factory OEM and has no missing or non-period correct parts on it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this machine a 9, near perfect with only a few non-perfect (100%) items that could easily be refinished or replaced.
