1978 Ford BRONCO 4x4 VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE 78 Bronco 4x4 w/ Factory Free Wheeling pkg ! NEW LOWER RESERVE !! BID TO WIN (2 yr body style only) and the removable Hardtop is a plus ! Arizona Truck minimal rust / still probably less rust on this truck then anything on ebay not restored. BUY 1 of our AZ vehicles and spend less time repairing rust for weeks on end, and keep more of the original sheetmetal making your project worth more in the end and spending less money in the end. Brief description: Its a driver, hop in and fire it up and take it anywhere around in town our out of town. I just took it on a 100 mile trim from Wilcox Az to Tucson last month. I may need a tune up somewhat and Id put some better mufflers on it myself, but for a driver, it needs very little. Youll see in the pics below, its 100 % original paint from 1978 and even what is left of the original decals !! Zero rust and NO BONDO ! AMAZING It would be cool to just restore the mechanics of it all and leave the paint AS IS, because you know what they say, they are Only original ...once. The trucks been in Az as far back as we can track, even though the DSO Code is for Michigan. The truck had some rust inhibitor installed from the dealer and then it went right to AZ where its been most of its life. PLEASE check out all the pics below, there is NO ROT FOUND on the body anywhere and its 1 of the nicest survivor Broncos Ive come across in yrs. Arizona trucks are time capsules half the time and the best kind to restore. THE patina on the truck is great ! Shows aprox 42k on the odometer and chances are its rolled over once. But you never know. EXTERIOR: you are looking at the same paint put on the truck in 1978 and what is left of the decals too. So we know there is no bondo or rust anywhere on the body. Even still has the factory front pushbar ! For a 30+ yr old truck, its still in pretty nice shape. ITS NOT RESTORED, but all Original and pretty cool just that way. Check out all the pics, please !! Only place I was able to find any damage worth mentioning is on the rear tailgate. The metal is starting to crack around where the spare tire mount is bolted to the truck. And its NOT from rust, but just not a great design. Weld it up from the inside and it should fix it for a while. Parking lights work, but havent figured out why the headlights dont work. Could just be the headlight switch. DRIVETRAIN: it is an original factory 351 H code V8 2v with an 3 spd auto trans. connected to the one of the best 4x4 systems to come stock on a truck. Dana 44s front / 9" rear, lots of travel in the suspension too. Factory pkg included the factory steering stabilizer and dual shock set up up front. Front hubs are locking / unlocking too. Runs good, a little rough , but Id hop in it and drive it anywhere. Starts all the time and runs good for its age. No smoking from the motor, but I suspect it could use a tune up and stuff. Its been mostly just a ranch truck for many yrs here in AZ. The Factory WHITE SPOKES with sell with the truck while the Michelins and Alum Outlaw rims are an extra $250 if the winner wants them. INTERIOR: old, original showing its age, its a little dusty inside but its functional and you can use it just the way it is, or do a mild resto on it and restore it back to factory wouldnt take much. Factory roll bar and flip up 2nd row seat is cool. Console and carpet where removed yrs ago. Power back window works BUT the wiring to the switch is missing, so for now to move the window up and down I just use a battery and jumper wires to the motor. Side windows have Old old window tint still on them, which is why they look purple in some of the pics. The tint needs to be removed. The top is bolted back on, its easy enough to take off and looks great too. Front windshield does have a crack in it on the pass side. SUSPENSION: basically bone stock suspension thats been taken care of over the years. It drives nice for an older 4x . Currently its on some 15x7 Outlaw rims and Michelin Tires But the truck also comes with the original white spoke rims (no tires on them anymore.) Old Rough Country shocks up front are cool and this truck came with the Double shock hoop option up front. Its dirty too, but if you power wash it about 10 more times it will clean up pretty nicely.
