Vehicle Detail
1981 Honda CB-900C Custom. Beautiful unrestored and well cared for example. People at gas stops and restaurants have commented about it looking like a brand new bike. Candy Muse Red/Brown Metallic original factory paint. 13,008 miles. There are no dents or scratches! No seat issues other than the gold is not fully in the "HONDA" letters on the back of the seat. The choke knob is also missing some of the white from the letters. You will have to look hard to find minimal specks of corrosion in the normal places hidden in nooks and crannies, but very minimal. Exhaust is solid with no issues. The bike has never been dropped. It has a Honda "Hondaline" brand engine guard. Starts instantly, idles shifts and runs as designed. The bike runs silky smooth and the engine is super silent of any ticking or other non-normal noises. Amazingly quiet engine! It has the dual range high/low transmission (5 low, 5 high - 10 different speeds/gear ratios). New Dunlop tires with only 509 miles on them. Front and rear brakes have been disassembled and inspected, cleaned and reassembled with fresh brake fluid. New fork seals and fluid. New Battery. The front and rear air suspension hold air fine and do not leak. There is some mild oxidation on the valve cover. All factory decals are still in place and auction includes the original two keys, owners manual, tool kit and dial type air gauge and pouch. It's a sad day to have to let this one this nice go, but too many bikes and reducing the herd (or be divorced!). I purchased this at the end of last year, so had not tagged it yet. It has a clear open title in previous owners name. Thanks for looking! On Mar-11-15 at 10:32:25 PDT, seller added the following information: We finally have some sunshine here in NW Arkansas, so I added two full, 100% clear bright sunshine pics at the very end of the pictures. I do also want to apologize for having the handlebar switch wire bands out of position in all shots. The upper ones should be slid up to middle of the bar curve; the bottoms ones to the middle of the lower bar curve. That way the switch wires are tight against the bars with no sag. On Mar-11-15 at 10:48:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Just for interest only, I am adding this info: I had a person just getting into Motorcycling for the first time and asked how this bike would compare to a new Honda CMX-250C Rebel. His friends do much more country cruising mixed with highway riding and was told the Rebel would be to small - just for learning and mostly city riding. I politely mentioned to him with his 170 pounds that the Rebel would struggle to maintain 60 MPH with a small head wind and he would constantly be going between 4th and 5th gears wide open to do it. Well, those of you that ride know there is a world of difference with handling, weight and power. Not only that, a new 250 Rebel is $4190! If you had the choice and this 900C was the same price as a new 250 Rebel, I am pretty sure which would win out for 90% of you (10% maybe small/short "city only" riders?). The Rebel resale price would be hard to justify once out the door too!
