Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1951 Mercury Monterey 4 door sedan w/ original suicide doors.Numbers matching 255 8BA flathead V8 w/ 3 speed w/ overdrive manual trans. This is a NO RESERVE auction This car is an all original 51' merc w/ numbers matching engine/Overdrive trans.the car is still currently 6v but the previous owner disconnected the ign.and 6v electronics to start the car with a 12v battery. ignition and all original wiring still present to be able to re hook up for factory 6v if wanted.Car can only be currently started by jumping the solenoid. currently has an electric inline fuel pump setup.I do not know the present working condition of the mechanical fuel pump. The interior headliner/ front seat are in rough shape and will need replaced/ restored.back seat was recovered by previous owner(poorly) Car is a Florida car all its life.I found the car via local listings and called my uncle to go look the car over/ purchase it for me as i live in Michigan.Upon inspection the car ran/ idled great and was driven around the block w/ no problems. I was unable to afford to ship the car up to Michigan in the last couple of months and thus why it is for sale. The car is located in Jacksonville Beach, FL. The frame/ floors are in very good shape as is the rest of the body. I was told there is little to no bondo but i am unable to personally confirm this. All glass is in good shape and the car currently has chrome/stainless window/ headlight visors(see pics) I do not know the condition of the tires other than that they hold air and havent gone low in the last 3 months. The only rust issues are a little bit of seam rust on bottom of door sills due to water from dry rotted door seals. Car was originally Blue but was painted black by previous owner. Car has a clean/ clear title. Vehicle sells as is to the highest bidder w/ NO RESERVE.Buyer pays shipping and handling.I will be more than happy to help w/ coordinating the loading if needed.500.00 USD Deposit required within 48hrs end of auction. Will accept Cash, check, money order, wire transfer.
