                                  1970 Ford Mustang                                                                                                                                                                         Description                                                                                                               Odometer: NA                   VIN# 0R01L158016                   Engine:  EFI 5.0 V8                   Transmission: Manual                                                                                                               Here is a chance to own a very unique and competitive Mustang!  This 1970 coupe has been built over the past 3 years to compete in NASA's American Iron racing series.  As you will see, I've spared no expense to make this car fast, stable, and competitive in the field.  I have all of the receipts for the build and a clear Texas title.  This Mustang is immediately ready to race in AI, HPDE, time trials, or any other event it can qualify for!  The seat belt harness expired in November, but that's the only thing needed to be race ready in 2015.  I put in new Wilwood front brakes and rack-and-pinion steering earlier this fall, and it was just aligned by Soulspeed three months ago.   This car is wonderful to drive and gets thumbs-up from everyone who sees it.  The body looks great in pics, but it's in no way a show car and the panels are not perfect.  Also, some of the detailed pictures show the steering before I converted to R&P.  I currently have vintage plates and registration, but check local laws regarding driving it on public roads.                                                                                                                       Condition                                                                     Chassis and Body: ~2800 lbs wet with NASA log book (meets current NASA CCCRs except for the aforementioned belts) 1970 Mustang Coupe with clean Texas title and current antique registration/plates Full 6 point cage designed and built by Andris Laivins of Laivins Race Cars Welded in Maier Panhard bar and subframe connectors Fully welded front shock towers with cross bracing tied into the roll cage (without passing through the firewall) The entire tub was media blasted and powder coated, top to bottom, after the fabrication was completed (exterior panels painted normally) All damaged exterior panels were replaced (no Bondo beyond basic leveling) Rear decklid and corners and front valance splitter are Maier fiberglass parts The hood is stock steel, lightened, with vents added Front fenders are lightened and flared Rear fenders are flared New front windshield and Lexan rear window Custom ABS plastic removable front dam/splitter for easy transport Suspension, Brakes, and Wheels: Street or Track front tubular coilover setup with Bilstein nitrogen adjustable dampers (filling setup included) Rear 5.5 leaf springs, delrin shackles, and Bilstein dampers Ford big-bearing 9" axle with 3.50 posi-trac differential and 2002 Cobra brakes Wilwood 13" rotor, 6 piston front brakes (pn WIL-140-10220-R) Two sets of MB 17x9.5" wheels, one set with 75% worn shaved RA1s and one set with near-full tread non-shaved RA1s.  275-40-17 Custom Unisteer and FR R&P steering with all chromoly joints and Opentracker bump-steer spherical tie rod ends Engine, Transmission: EEC-IV FI system with Cobra intake, BBK fuel rail, 76mm MAF and intake, detail zone engine harness, and A9L with SCT chip tuned by Tracy and Willie at Fuel Injection Specialties CHP GT 331 short block, http://www.coasthigh.com/P3311F-GT-F331-SB-p/p3311f-gt-f331-sb.htm -12AN oil cooler lines and cooler Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads (older 1.90) with Rhoads VMAX super oilers and Comp cams 1052-16 rockers TFS stage 2 hydraulic roller cam BBK Fuel Rail with Ford Racing 24lb injectors and adjustable FPR MSD Ignition distributor and wires ATL 22 gallon fuel cell with electronic sender, surge tank, Holley pump, and full custom -8AN braided lines.
