Vehicle Detail
1972 BMW 2002 2dr RUST FREE AZ CAR SINCE DAY1 - DESERT SURVIVOR - WORKING factory AC Up for auction: first I want to say, this is possibly the most rust FREE 2002 up for sale at an affordable price too. Paperwork comes with the car showing it was bought here in Tucson on day 1. Its never left AZ. Under the car is a little dirty, but rust free and has never needed or had any rust repair in its life. Originally the car was tan in color but was painted the current Black paint you see back in the early 80s. The original owner sold the car to the 2nd owner in the mid 90s.. We acquired the car from the 2nd owner. The car comes with a stack of paperwork from the last 15 yrs or so showing pretty much any work or repairs that where done to the car mechanically since 95. I believe the AC was factory but if not, it was dealer installed in 72 when the car was new. And it works well, even in Tucson on hot summer days. Paperwork is included with the sale (and shown in the pics below) of AC work including new compressor, Weber carb, and clutch done in the last 10 yrs. But that said, the cars only been driven maybe 15k miles too in the last 10 yrs. DRIVETRAIN: under the hood is the original matching #s motor 2.0 4 cyl with the factory 4 spd stick and stock rearend. Clutch is great and has low miles on it. A Weber brand carb was installed about 10 yrs ago too. Its a little cold blood like most older carbureted cars from this era, but after it warms up its a great driver car you can take anywhere. Brakes work great and shocks feel good too. NO RUST AROUND OR NEAR THE UPPER STRUT MOUNTS, ZERO. INTERIOR: the front and rear seats where redone about 10 yrs ago too. I have the headrest for the front seats, but they didnt want to install them after they re-covered them. Rest of the interior is showing wear from age, but for a driver its in decent shape. IF it had new carpets, headliner and maybe some door cards, it would be pretty sweet. Tach works, but the speedo has been worked on a few times over the past 10 yrs and not working again. Trunk mat shows wear, but all components and spare are intact. EXTERIOR: the paint actually not bad for 30 yrs old and would be fine if you wanted to keep it as a daily driver, it looks great in the pics but you can see fading and scratches, cracking better in person (its black). The LR corner was hit at one time and needs repair but thats really the only area I can see thats had damage. Its not horrible, but you can see it in the pics. Chrome on the bumpers is nice, some trim on the trunk is loose and need Clips. Its not a restored car keep that in mind and will need some cosmetics and parts to bring to back to condition A if those are your plans for it. SUSPENSION: the suspension is basically all original and stock and the steering feels tight like it should. Shocks feel good too. Rears may be Konis, not sure. No wierd clunks or noises, and even the tires are in pretty nice shape for their age. Handles great, like these cars where meant too. This car is 95% rust free Arizona car Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. Hope you like the detailed pics There you have it, probably The BEST represented 2002 on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Honestly, I think more sellers should post pics like we do but buyer beware if they dont. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. Or fly in and drive it home if you choose. Clear ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND I wont end the auction early !! CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. But keep in mind, the car cant ship until you get your title from us in hand. This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises and our Feedback speaks for itself ! EMAIL US WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE !! Car will obviously ship as an INOP. IF you need a shipping quote, just email us with your city/state and Ill find out our best quote for you !! No problem helping it to the docks if you are shipping overseas . If there is a winner, please email me when the auction ends and say Hi and we can take it from there. Bank Wires need to be prompt if you are out of the country because they always seem to take longer then expected. I bank with B of A which makes things easy for many out of state for payment. direct deposit or Cashier checks If you wire the funds we must add a $50 fee that our bank charges us. must clear before car can move. Its a sign of the times, sorry. IF RESERVES NOT MET, email us anyway maybe we can work out a deal after it ends. NO PAYPAL, sorry. Must be paid within 5 days of auctions end. On Jan-12-15 at 14:53:17 PST, seller added the following information: I need to add a few things I forgot about when I listed the car: I put 150k for mileage because the speedo broke at 101k honestly, after talking to the last owner again he feels with as little as it was driven in the last 10 yrs, it may only be closer to 125k. Not sure if the gas gauge is working, havent seen it move sinceweve been driving it. Also, yrs ago the ignition switch went bad, so to start the car youstill use the key, but someone installed a small metal starter push buttonon the dash, just left of the steering column. Keep in mind, this is more of a survivor car that is not restored but its still a great car to just drive around in as is or restore it to the next level / driver. The car does come with the box of extra/spare parts too shown inthe pics near the bottom.
