Vehicle Detail

This vehicle is offered for sale via internet auction to settle an Estate in Northern Virginia. The item is located approximately 20 miles west of Washington D.C. Item Description- This car was built before the era of "Billet" cars. The project started with a very straight and rust free Southern car-unique split Buick hood which can be opened on either side. . A Late 70's era GM front end and rear sections were subframed to the 1951 Buick frame in a very professional manner. Same 70's era 350 V-8 and Turbo 350 Transmission -along With a 10 Bolt Rear make up the driveline with drum brakes on all 4 corners. Power Steering, Power Brake Booster and A/C components of the same era were adapted to the car along with a period correct Sears Department Store Under Dash A/C system. We believe the car has it's original inner and outer rockers. There are a couple of small floor patches and patch in trunk area to accomodate the rear subframe. We noted some very minor pin holes in the inner rockers. No frame rot evident and this car appears to have never been undercoated . Surviving family members indicate the car came out of Georgia. The Steering Wheel , tilt Column and Seats appear to be out of a vintage Chevrolet. I'd estimate this car was built sometime in the late 70's The deceased owner acquired it around 1999. We noted a 1976 date code on some of the Power Steering components. The body has a ton of nice custom work including recessed/frenched tail lights, license plate area, headlights, dummy lake pipes, spot lights. and antennae. Car appears to have been painted in single stage enamel with no paint bubbles, crazing or lifting. All polished stainless trim and chrome are in very nice condition. There is one small ding in the bottom rear windshield waist rail. Car still has vacumn wipers which work. The Cragar Mag Wheels on the front do rub slightly on the inner front fenders when the wheel is totally extended in a turn. Car may of run narrower wheels at one time- we are checking in the garage to see if they may be in storage, We had the opportunity to have the car driven 25 miles to our warehouse. The gauges show good oil pressure and the car never ran over 195 degrees on the trip. The bias ply tires are clean with plenty of tread-but I'd suggest replacing with modern radials. Car features traditional "Tuck and Roll" white vinyl throughout the car with a matching headliner. Drivers side arm rest could easily benefit from being resprayed with white vinyl dye.. This car is fitted with flamehrowers which feature sparkplugs to brazed holders in the exhaust systems and a coil ignition system. We did not try to activate them. The headlights and parking lights work fine-however the rear passenger side brake/taillight and front passenger side turn signal do not always work-probably a loose ground wire. The prior owner suffered from dementia the last 7 years and this car was driven only sporadically for the last 6 years-with very little use this past year. I'd suggest a thorough service before driving the car regularly. The prior owner had no second thoughts driving this car from Va. to Pigeon Forge TN or to Harrisburg Pa to attend a Good Guys Event. True miles unknown-Title indicates 66K miles while speedo indicates 11,638- My guess is that the speedo indicates the mileage since the car was built. Blue rugs in car are a bit worn. This car really has good "bones" . 25+ year old paint shows no crazing, cracking or lifting. New owner could enjoy it as is or take it to the next level. Car is in exceptional condition for a car that was built some 25 years ago or longer.
