ORIGINAL WEST COAST WOODY FOR SALE - CAR IS LOCATED IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON You're looking at one of the rare, Chrysler Town & Country models - this one being the C-49 T&C Newport hardtop, one of 698 produced in the last year of the solid wood-bodied cars from Chrysler. These were priced new at over $4k (in 1950 dollars) & weighed in at 4,670 lbs. poewered by the straight 8 & fluid drive 'semi-automatic' transmission. This example has been a local car for many years, passed from one longtime T&C Mopar collector toanother - each one caring for it & preserving it, for some future restoration. This car has been in the same garage for the last 40 years in (SeattleWashington) The time has come for someone else to take the reins & finish the job...it runs very well with a completely rebuilt engine and has a very respectable & decent original interior. Take a look at the pictures and you can see it still wearsthe original metallic green paint - but it needs the ash wood redone, mainly in the rear quarters & upper trunk area. The chrome is also original, and shows wear and some pitting on some of the trim, but it's not missing any pieces. Well worth the investment of time & money!
