The Porsche Boxster is truly the Porsche for the people. Not only are they affordable and get great gas mileage but they are a blast to drive. With a complete fresh engine and great maintenance history, this Porsche has years of trouble free miles ahead.
This Porsche was sold new on July 20th, 1998 from the famous Circle Porsche of Long Beach, CA. This owner lived in Orange County and kept the car as a weekend cruiser until 2003 when it had 42,000 miles. The 2nd owner also lived in Orange County and continued to use the car as a weekend toy. He began servicing the car at Vision Motorsports. Vision is one of the premier independent Porsche specialists in Orange County. They specialize in water-cooled Porsche engines. We have all the receipts from the 2nd owner. He enjoyed the car until May of 2012 when the engine failed. It turned out to be a one of the camshaft chains, which failed. Although not common, it does happen every so often as these smaller chains were not the best quality. At this point, the owner was considering selling the car to the local dismantler. Fortunately, Dwain (owner of Vision) knew that the car was very nice and in amazing shape. The paint was original and he had already been servicing the car for over 7-years. So, he agreed to purchase the car and get it in tiptop running condition.
The engine and transmission were removed. The engine was opened up and anywhere the parts could be upgraded for more reliable new components, that was done. The repairs included the following:
All new upgraded chains (5 in total)
New IMS bearing
Heads refinished
New valves, guides, springs, etc. (top end)
Bottom end opened and inspected.
Pistons and cylinders were in excellent condition
New rods and rings
All new gaskets and rubber
In total, this work was valued at over $11,000. Furthermore, just before the engine failed, the previous owner replaced the soft top with a new factory part.
From there, Dwain’s wife and business partner (she runs the front office) used the car for the next two years as a daily driver. Naturally, the car was frequently serviced and nothing was overlooked. In fact, just before he gave us the car to help sell, he did a service and inspection.
This Boxster came nicely optioned from the factory with the following:

This Boxster is in remarkable condition. The paint is all original and verified with a paint meter. There are no signs of abuse and it has never been tracked. The paint shines great and has some minor nicks from typical light driving. It looks better than most Porsches with half the miles. The wheels are in great shape with no curb rash. The rear tires are new and the fronts have at least 75% life remaining. The front brakes and rotors are new and the rears have about half-life left. The soft top is new and looks great with no stains or wears marks. The rear window is clear. The interior looks equally nice and a testament to the well cared-for life this Porsche had. The leather is in great condition with no cracks or tears. The dash is perfect. There are no stains or odors of any kind. The headliner is perfect. Of course, everything works properly. All the gauges function correctly and the a/c blows ice cold.
This Boxster needs nothing. Its service is current and ready to be enjoyed.
California registration and smog is current and good through July of 2015,
This Porsche comes complete with all the owners manuals, 3-keys, 10+ years of records, tools, and spare tire.
