Vehicle Detail
Ending at High Noon next Sunday (7 Days) with NO RESERVE. First time EVER listed. 1955 Chevy 150 2 dr. post. Two Lane Blacktop style SCARY FAST! Drives and handles the road GREAT! Real 150 2 DOOR sedan...NOT a 4 door conversion. There has been A LOT of time and money spent on this car over the years. I have taken the time to go into extreme detail and be as thorough and as honest as I can be so PLEASE take the time to read the entire listing prior to calling. Car came out of Water Haven, Florida and was a regular track hero at the Lakeland Drag Strip in case you recognize it. Same car. Clear/open Florida title in hand. Stock VIN plate: A55S198745 Car has been together and enjoyed for many, many years. Really nice, vintage, heavy built (street weight, not flimsy race weight) reinforced fiberglass tilt front clip. Hand built 12 gauge aluminum hood scoop Pin on STEEL trunk lid. Boxed full frame, new sheet steel floors and trunk tin work, full wheel tubs. Frame extensions and reinforcements as well as drive shaft loop. GM disc front brake set up with adjustable billet upper ball joints. Built 12 Bolt GM 8.875 (car) rear end narrowed with Richmond 513's covered by a Trick Flow aluminum finned cover with drain and filler plugs. I can drive the car 55-60mph at a comfortable 2700-3000rpm's. Then punch it if you want to and be going the opposite way in less than 1 second. REAL American Racing 200S "Daisy" mags I ordered from the factory specifically made for this car. They took 3 month to build and are 1 of a kind. 15"x4" front with new tires. Rears are 15"x14" with Hoosier Quick Time Pro's 31x18.5x15" a little dry but still in great shape! Extra long Moroso wheel studs Engine/trans were relocated back for weight transfer. Custom built (recessed) firewall with working lights inside for easy inspection and repairs. Inside has new JAZ short back seats, ACI 5 point harness, Autometer gauges, Boost dial, Accel Super coil, MSD 6AL box, Painless wiring harness and fuse block. Switch panel for ignition, electric fan, ignition, electric fuel pump, lights and alternator for charging system. You can isolate for making passes if you want to drag race the car. Also has battery cut off in rear. BODY: Real deal, all steel from firewall back. It is what it is. Nothing exceptional. Old battleship gray primer paint job with stain distressing and weather to achieve that sweaty look. Stock VIN # palte and firewall ID plate never removed. Quarters have been cut, flared and re-arched properly using steel (Not sculpted from Bondo). Car is actually VERY solid but I am sure there are some spots where Bondo was used to fill in minor rust spots but there are NO MAJOR repair areas full of filler that I have found. Actually a straight and sound body in my opinion. Doors open and close nicely! Inner and outer rockers are new. Car is back halved. Full cage and Lexan side windows. ENGINE/TRANS: Engine was built/balanced and blueprinted by Bobby Watts Speed Shop in Lakeland, Florida. ROWDY steel crank 355 4 bolt main with Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, I beam rods, BIG CAM (not sure what size or maker), Keith Black 8:1 pistons, B&M Supercharger 142 Blower, Holley carb, Built TCI 400 Turbo with 10" convertor 3500 Stall, SFI Foundation rigid transmission shield and B&M shifter. NO LEAKS OF ANY KIND. This is all I know about the drivetrain as explained to me from the previous owner. I was told that there was hardly any time on this drivetrain. Only made a dozen or so passes before being stored away. After pulling the valve covers and doing a visual inspection of the internals, it is obvious it has very low time on it. I went to great lengths to track down the history on the car to confirm many of these facts. Paperwork was all in a folder that was lost somewhere between Florida and Tennessee. Lots of phone calls and emails. Car is EXTREMELY STRONG and will snap your neck back HARD! I had always wanted one of these cars just EXACTLY like this one. All "GO" and no "SHOW". "Put your money where your mouth is", type of car. Anyway, times have changed and so have my interests. There has been a BUNCH of $$$$$ spent on this car. I am running it at NO RESERVE so bid to own the car. Car is Street legal here in Indiana. Working lights, mufflers "Purple Hornies" and DOT tires. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. RULES & LEGAL MUMBO JUMBO: This car is SCARY FAST and NOT a means for grandma to get to the chiropractor. Car is sold "AS IS" and "WHERE IS" obviously. I will help load the car and work with your shipper anytime. Not a problem. Potential buyers who are local are welcome and encouraged to come and inspect the car in person prior to bidding. Nothing to hide here. Others may email me for additional pics or questions. I am happy to help out any way I can. I would like you to be just as happy with the car as I was when I bought it. This is a Two Lane Blacktop "style" car but NOT another 100% accurate replica obviously. So PLEASE do not feel the need to email me, letting me know that you are an expert on the subject and sighting all of the specific inaccuracies you have found. I don't care. This is just a fun old door slammer to raise hell in. You can't build this car for anywhere near what the opening bid is. If it doesn't sell, I won't be heartbroken by any means. (812)631-9351 NO TRADES OF ANY KIND! This is Ebay... NOT Down East Dickering. ONLY LISTING THIS CAR 1 TIME. PERIOD. IF THE CAR DOESN'T SELL I WILL NOT RELIST IT. I WILL KEEP IT IN MY GARAGE. THANKS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
