1972 Plymouth Fury III 4dr HT Up for Auction: 1972 FURY Grand Sedan NO RESERVE !! easy to restore and win ! It really needs a good restoration inside, then maybe do the mechanicals, leaving the paint and body last. You could possibly even just wetsand and buff whats there and leave the patina :) Knowing how these cars are loved overseas, chances are this car may end up in the Europe somewhere when its over. fair low reserve making this a car almost anyone can afford... In 1972 the FURY had an optional Hide A Way headlight system available, a pretty rare and unique option, and luckily this car got that option. The front end is amazing looking and in really great shape too. Theyll never build cars like this again and this 1 is a keeper. It has a evil look to it just sitting there ! With this car you get a Muscle car look front end, luxury driving of a 4dr , and the open feel of a coupe when you drop down all 4 windows and cruise around with your friends or family. This car has alot of factors not found in other cars from the same era. The car always looks better in pics, but its still a nice body with a fair original interior. If you check out how Plymouth sloped the rear back window, its almost considered a fastback design. Not alot of these cars have survived this long so restoring this Fury you can almost assure you wont see another one at your local car show, and people always ask you what it is. Its really a piece of history youll love putting back on the road and driving. A brief description of the vehicle, the car was taken off the road a few yrs ago and parked. When we got it it wasnt running so we did a few things to get the motor running and moveable around the parking lot. Not sure how the gas in the tank is so for now we are running it off a small tank of fuel under the hood. I may try to check the tank and hook it up there this week if I have time. As far as we could track the cars history, its always been in AZ so its about a 90% rust free car. Youll see in the pics below some rust on the rr 1/4 panel and some inside the trunk from moisture under the original rubber mat over the yrs. Its still not near as bad as a true east coast car. Check out All the pics below to get a better idea of what to expect. Pics are worth 1000 words and we have pics all around and under the car below, about 150 total. Not sure why more sellers dont do this, seems like the best way to sell a vehicle over the internet. Because the car has been off the road for a few yrs, Id probably suggest doing a full check of belts, hoses and maybe change some of the fluids before making it a daily driver, unless you plan on going thru the mechanics first during a restoration. Restore it back to stock or do something along the lines of a restomod with a small drop and some 20" cop car style rims on it would be awesome. Either way, youd have a really cool and unique 1 of a kind car your friends only wished they had for such a low investment. DRIVETRAIN: best we can tell its a matching #s car with the factory V8, 318 V8 2v motor matted to a 3 spd auto. Transmission and brakes feel good and no wierd noises coming from the rearend. Tires all in decent shape too. Motor runs well for not being tuned up and has plenty of torque and power for its age. INTERIOR: All original dk green needs alot of attention. But at least doing an interior is cheaper then fixing rust for weeks on end. The Az sun has been brutal to the old Chrysler plastic and rubber, and the carpet smells like oil for some reason. Door panels can probably be saved. Front bench seat has a bucket look to is, which is cool. All the glass is good and windows all work. All the rubber and weather stripping is dry and toasty. EXTERIOR: Original color is the green you see in the pics and I believe the car is wearing all of its original paint still. It has a few dents and bumps, but not bad for a 40+ yr old car. A little rust around the back window but not as bad as youd expect. The vinyl tops been off for yrs here in the desert. Check out all the Pics below and if you have questions, please email me. But I dont see any signs of huge bondo spots or rust repairs. Stainless and chrome not in bad shape for being 40+ yr old. But again its not a restored car either. SUSPENSION: all factory the best I can tell and Im sure some bushings are old and shocks, but again this stuff is easy to fix these days then rusted out bodies. Its not as mushy or tank-like of a drive as I expected to be. The car drives like a smaller 2dr car to be honest and Im sure with a few upgrades it would be even more fun to drive. The torsion bar front end and rear leafs, making lowering this car if you want, super easy. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you have it, probably The BEST represented Furys on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !!
