Vehicle Detail

I am considering selling my AAR Cuda if the price is right and as you can see on Ebay and other sites a restored 'AAR is worth a lot (Ebay #201217205723 and #231395763562 and others). I've had it for many years and it's still several cars (and years) down my list to get to. If it doesn't meet my reserve I'll keep it until I can restore it later. It is a project car but the body is in one of the best conditions I've seen for awhile. I strongly suggest either seeing the car yourself or having someone you trust come to look at it to be sure it's what you want. Contact me for any specific questions, history, or pictures you want. No tire kickers please. Time arrangements must be made to look at the car as it 's locked up offsite in a monitored storage building stored behind furniture and such. I reserve the right at any time to cancel this auction. Total production for the AAR was 2724 with 1604 automatics. This car is one of the 1604 and is a column shift bench seat car making it among the rarest of the breed. It is dissasembled and will need top to bottom restoration but most of the hard to find pieces are there. It has the numbers matching TA block, TA heads (including the special rockers and pushrods), correct six pack intake and original carbs (list #'s 4789, 4792, and 4790), correct exhaust manifolds, original #974 AAR radiator and original #52 K frame. I do not have the air cleaner but they are available aftermarket. I had it repainted the original EF8 Dark Green Metallic but it is not a show car paint job. The right front fender had been replaced and painted before with enamel and cracked/crazed when the lacquer was applied. It will need to be redone. The fiberglass hood is original and only needs minor repairs. All glass is included and good even the front windshield (which is usually cracked). It has front power disc brakes and the rear is original. The transmission is the original 727 numbers matching. The body needs very little minor repairs (except for repainting the right front fender mentioned earlier). The trunk and interior floors are excellent and solid. The roof and doors are very good. The grill is nice but does have some repairable cracks. The front and rear valances are also in good shape. The original dash has a couple of cracks. The front eyebrows and rear spoiler need very minor work. Some of the interior plastic will need to be replaced or redyed but most are in good shape and I have extra interior plastic also. The seats will need to be recovered. I have a decent set of side pipes, extra back seat frame, dual point distributor, interior carpet (bought new years ago but has a faded spot), new headliner bought years ago, new AAR side stripes but years old, etc.I bought this car years ago after it was taken off of the drag strip. The body was not cut but the front inner wheel wells were unbolted and removed (not cut out) for header clearance. Couldn't find the originals but replacements are inexpensive. I'm not sure if the rear end drive ratio was changed but can find out if needed. The motor was bored .030" os with high compression pistons and a race camshaft. I've got the original compression pistons and stock cam/lifters/springs to put back in. I no longer have the race stuff. The stampings match the dash plate still in the original dash pad, original fender tags (both of them), and the title is clear. I have the keys to the ignition and trunk. This car was optioned with all the usual AAR stuff but while most were standard gauge cars this one is the rallye gauge car as evidenced by the A62 on the fender tag. I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. Some missing parts: Mufflers, front inner wheel wells, exhaust from the manifolds to the side pipes, gaskets/seals, does not have the original wheels, and the air cleaner. I could go on and on about this car but prefer you arrange to see the car, have someone you trust check it out, or call me for more information. Arrangements must be made ahead of time as the car is valuable and locked up in a monitored area. Spartanburg, SC 29302 (Tim 864-275-5910). A winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. Be sure you are fully aware of the condition of this project car before you bid. Again I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. No tire kickers! YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. The car is sold without warranty. The brakes don't work but it does roll and the tires will hold air. $2000 non-refundable down payment due 3 days after auction end. Car must be paid in full before it leaves. Full payment time negotiable but expected within a month. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Thanks for looking.
