Here is a 1980 BJ40 Land Cruiser with a factory Toyota 4 cylinder turbo diesel motor. Legendary 3B engine does not leak or use any oil. This amazing off road machine started its life as a gas version FJ40, but somewhere along the way someone swapped out the drive-train for the 3B diesel WITH A TURBO and a 5 speed manual transmission hooked to it. They did a pretty good job too. As to how many miles were on it when the motor was swapped is a mystery. There are currently 334K kilometers (+-207k miles) on the odometer. Transmission shifts fantastic and four wheel drive crawls up any thing you put in front of it. This vehicle would be perfect for a self sufficient mountain man or bug out vehicle for some one prepping for the end of the world. Mechanical fuel injection pump is perfect for running alternative fuels and there's no computer components to worry about. She's a legendary off roader and with some love she could sell for a lot more if you're into projects; I just don't have time or the garage space right now. If you've been searching for one of these, but you don't want to pay $30,000 and you don't want a rusty pile of crap either, then this one is perfect for you. Yes, these trucks are extremely rare, but I also believe in honest value and I remember the days when you could actually find a good deal on the internet... The Good: - Factory 3B Toyota 4 Cylinder diesel with turbo. - Does not leak or use any oil, no white smoke, no blow by - Fresh oil and premium filter change with Rotella 15W 40 - Fresh oil change on 5 speed manual transmission - Fresh oil change on 4x4 High/Low transfer case - Fresh oil change on front and rear solid axles - Rebuilt front drive line 4X4 works great! - Radiator and coolant flush, and changed out thermostat - Heater blows hot, does not have A/C - Does have power steering - Front and rear disk brakes with new master cylinder. No parking brake - Pyro and Boost gauges - Original Warn Winch works great! - Four super bright spotlights on top turn the dark forest into daylight. - Custom heavy duty roof rack - Reclining bucket seats and rear bench seat for the troops (yes it came with jump seats, but now it has a forward facing bench with seat belts) - Spray in bed liner floor can be easily pressure washed for those muddy trips. - Pioneer CD player and door speakers - 35" all terrain Cooper tires with premium steel rims. - Awesome looking classic truck and very solid - Clear Montana title, no liens The Not-So-Good: - Crack in windshield, all other windows are good - Some rust on bottom or doors, a spot on fenders and rim around pop-top will need repaired (pictured). - Places that have surface rust starting will need to be dealt with before they get worse. - Some uneven wear on rear wheels, I'm guessing they were bought used because I see no reason for it, the truck could probably use new tie rods soon, but they're not bad enough to cause the kind of uneven wear I see on those rear tires. The fronts seem to be wearing fine. I did buy all of the parts for the front steering components (inner and outer tie rods and steering dampener), but I don't have time to install them.
