Vehicle Detail
Hi and thanks for bidding or looking at our listing. Their is no reserve on this auction. This is a Classic 1979 Plymouth Volare Slant 6 Cylinder Automatic Transmission. It was my Grandfathers and has been sitting in my Grand Fathers Barn for 15 years. He purchased it brand new for my Grand Mother. We still have the original bill of sale. I don't really want to sell it, but I don't have a good place to shelter this car to keep it in this condition. The car was started up every so often over the years, and we just recently drove it 32 miles to our property in Conicville Virginia. It ran fine. The tires are getting pretty dry rotted. Before it was put in the barn he drove it regularly. The interior is still in pretty good condition. Their is no major rust. Their is one little, like two inch place on the left front fender that is pushed in just a little from where it grazed a fence just a little. I popped it most of the way out with my hand. The rest of it will probably pull out with a plunger and not show at all. Please watch the video's below before you bid, and to see and hear it run. Also, I do have several Mopar clubs interested in purchasing it. So I do want to reserve the right to cancel this auction if I receive a reasonable offer from someone like a car club that will preserve this car, instead of driving it until if falls apart. That would be my preference. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. My feedback is important to me, and so are you. Ebay members with zero feed back must contact us before bidding due to non paying bidders on other auctions. Sorry about that. Thanks...Jim Please watch this video I made of the Volare before we took it out of the barn. Sorry, it was dark out when I made the video. We just took it out and drove it here to our house recently. Please go to this Youtube web address to see the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvFrtNQJqLY I made a new video on November 14th 2014. I thought this might make it easier for anyone to decide if they wanted it or not. I will probably make a better video of it soon. Here is the link to the new video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPsIdPzIlEI On Nov-25-14 at 03:34:37 PST, seller added the following information: Hi everyone, I made another video so that anyone that wanted to see the car drive could see it. I took it about three miles down the road. I also stopped and checked for any leaks. Someone asked me on here the other day if it leaked any. I told them I did not think so, and it doesn't. I show this on the video also. Their were no signs of leakage where it was sitting in the barn either. This video is 18 minutes and 42 seconds long, but it takes you along on the ride so you can see and hear it drive. Please let me know if you have any questions. Just so you all know. I have tried my best to be as accurate as I can about this car. That's how I would want it if I were bidding on someone's car. I have nothing to hide. This is a good car and I have faith that with a good set of tires which by the way are P195/75 R14. You could get in it and drive to California. "However if you are the winning bidder of my Grandfather car, and you get here and something is not what I said it was. I have no problem giving you your money back, or letting you out of the deal. I want you to be happy with the car so you will want to take care of it. That means a lot to me." I do have plenty of other people that are interested in this car. A lot more than I expected, and I thank you all for your interest. Over 1100 views now. All I ask is that you only bid if you plan on following through with the deal until you see it. I have no problem if you want to have it shipped to you. UShip.com is a good method. You just list what you want shipped and where. Then all kinds of independent shippers bid on it over a set amount of time that you choose. Then you can just except or decline the lowest bid. I also have no problem keeping the car here with us for as long as you need me to until you can get here of have it shipped as long as you pay us for it. Please note, If its going to be left with us for an extended amount of time like over a month. Please don't expect us to refund your money as we may use the money by then for other needs. I think with the videos. I have been pretty accurate as to what you are getting. So I don't think you will have any surprises with this auction. Thanks again everyone for looking or bidding. My Grandfather would be happy too......Jim Here is the newest video I made on Monday 11-24-2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plv_81FWP0QOn Nov-25-14 at 04:19:57 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that on the most recent video I just posted of me driving the car. Our road is gravel so it sounds kind of loud on the video while I am going out to the paved road. It is the sound of the gravel on the tires. Not the car rattling. Also, the camera I was using does not pick up engine noise very well. So when I stopped the car and got out with the engine running. It made the engine sound louder than it is. Kind of high pitched sounding. Its not that loud. I forgot that camera does that with engines. Thanks...JimOn Nov-25-14 at 16:53:11 PST, seller added the following information: Hi everyone. I just wanted you to know that with one day left in the auction. I have no intentions of ending the auction early do to a local sale. I will let the auction end and sell the car to the winner of the auction. I can't stand it when I am bidding on something and they end the auction early. So I don't want to do that to you. Thanks again everyone for looking or bidding........Jim
