Vehicle Detail

1994 Lincoln Mark VIII. Body in excellent condition. Interior in very good condition, minor scuffs, no holes or rips in leather seats or dash other than one seam on the driver seat that needs stitching (as shown in the pictures). Air suspension is in good shape and tires have only a few thousand miles on them. They are quality Big O tires, and Big O is good at fixing their tires at any location for free as long as they have enough tread on them. No cracks in the dashboard, big thick mats have kept the carpets in extremely good condition. No warning lights have lit up to indicate problems. Console functions (clock, system check, fuel mileage, gallons used all work). I had the fuel pump replaced last year, power seats and windows all work. Last week I felt a vibration while driving that went away and reoccurs on occasion at certain speeds. Not long after I could feel the transmission not being as smooth as it had been. I took it to a transmission shop and they told me I would need a rebuild. At my age I am way past working on my car myself and a transmission rebuild by a professional was too expensive for this car. I did mention to the mechanic that the car ran fine on the way over to his shop (about 3 miles) and he said that if I took it easy and didn't drive long distances at freeway speeds, then the car would run okay for a while, but eventually it would need a transmission service. This car has the original Lincoln AM/FM/cassette tape deck that could use an upgrade, as the original speakers sometimes fade in and out. The electric antenna works for reception but it doesn't go up and down unless it is manually pulled up and pushed down as the antenna motor can be heard trying to do its job. I have not listed air conditioning as a feature because it needs to be serviced for it to blow cold air rather than the room temperature air it now blows. I never have been good at fixing stuff like cars and car stereos. I'm more the type of person who brings those things to a shop and I rely on preventative maintenance to keep things running. When it gets to be too much, my best option is to sell the car to someone more mechanically inclined and start over. So there are lots of good things about this car and a big bad thing on the horizon for this car. Please realize that before bidding, as I am looking for the type of person who can tackle these problems to be high bidder. I have started bidding at $1.00 and have no reserve price. Pick up or shipping of the car along with smog checks if intended to be used for driving rather than parts is the responsibility of the purchaser.
