1977 DATSUN 280Z - 1 OWNER - MINT CONDITION! Up for auction is an incredible 1977 Datsun 280Z 2+2 Coupe. I'm selling this car for a good friend. They've owned the car since new. It was purchased on 4/9/77 from Southlake Datsun (Nissan) in Merrillville, IN. It has been pampered it's whole life. It has been garage kept, never smoked in and has never seen snow. It's all original, except for the AM/FM 8 Track Radio (which they still have!). The paint is like new. It has been waxed twice a year for the 37 years. The glass and trim are like new as well. The interior has no wear, no cracks in the seats or the dash. The owners put seat covers on the front seats since new. The literally look like they've been recovered. This is without a doubt, the cleanest, most original 280Z 2+2 you will ever find......period. The 2.8L Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injected in-line 6 cylinder engine runs like day one. It has always ran with synthetic Mobil 1 oil. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts flawlessly and without any noise or vibration. The A/C has been converted to R134 and runs very cold. The undercarriage is very clean. There is no rust on this car. Just the usual surface road dust from the last 37 years. The windows seal like new. No air leaks or rattles. The weather-stripping has been beautifully preserved. All gauges and electrical items work as they should. The clock works intermittently. They also told me that the car was undercoated by Ziebart when new and then they had it done again in 1990. They also have a brand new steel wheel that goes with the sale too. They also have the original "Z" bra for the front of the car! Also, I've had some questions about any rust issues and I spoke with the owners yesterday and they told me that there are only two little spots around the driver's side front and rear wheel well opening where there are some signs of the paint bubbling a bit. But they assured me that the frame, inside of the doors and the rocker areas are all solid. If I get any updated pictures of those areas, I will surely post those for you.....thank you......Ken
