Vehicle Detail
1989 911 Carrera Cabiolet: 68,000 Miles. Triple Black Clean CARFAX and Auto Check. This is the last year of the body style (3.2L Carrera) and the 87-89's have displayed every indication that they will continue to appreciate and be the most sought after air cooled, under $50,000 Porsche on the road. I do not have any service records from before I owned it, bummer I know, but I do have multiple keys, a COA, covers, owner's manual, and all records since I owned it for the last 5+ years. Russ Kelso from PMCI in Corralles, NM as been its almost sole caretaker save for a battery incident and an AC upgrade. Yes, the AC has been partially upgraded with a new hi-pro evaporator and new hoses. It has the 5 speed G 50 manual transmission, which was introduced in 1987 and totally transformed the Carrera's driving experience. The transmission and hydraulic clutch transformed it into a car that nearly everyone could drive everyday; thankfully this car was driven less frequently than that. Car came out of Tempe, AZ and is nearly flawless. I have the COA and everything matches-save for the fact that it was born with a CD player and it currently has a factory period correct cassette deck as the AM unit that was in it was stolen. The top is newer and the rear plastic/glass is almost new. No rips-hazing crazing or anything else. The interior leather is in great shape with no tears! If someone was more nitpicky than me, they could moisturize incessantly and I believe it would regain most of its original suppleness and that is being very picky and perhaps inaccurate as the Germans have never been known for their supple leather, unless ordered that way and not available in '89, I don't think. This is an incredibly nice example of a highly collectible, rapidly appreciating easy and fun to drive legendary sportscar! The sound and feel of this hand built air cooled Classic are unparrelled! Be prepared to experience DRIVING again...most of us RIDE wherever we are going..in this car you will take the long way, rediscover driving and have everyone wonder why you're SMILING when you arrive! On a scale of 1-5 w 5 being a concourse trailer queen I would rate this as a 3.5-4 w very few cosmetic or mechanical issues The car is not perfect, but I have no doubt that if one was so inclined, it would win car shows/concourses in most states.
