Vehicle Detail
1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Mayberry Replica Sheriff Car 4-door sedan 352 V8 with Automatic Transmission Power Steering. New Gas Tank and Sender New Carpet New Tires New Paint (black portion) New Siren Complete tune up, Carb Rebuild, all mechanics checked. Runs and drives great. Car is ready to drive. Does need a few things as any 53 year old car does. Some things don't work such as heater, turn signals, radio, fuel gauge. I didn't spend much time messing with these items, so they may or may not be easy fixes. The heater does need a heater core and hoses. There is an exhaust leak at the passenger side manifold gasket that may be fixed by the end of the auction. Body is very solid. Super solid rust free floors as we just replaced carpeting and inspected it. Body very solid. Does have a small crease in the driver side rear door that goes to the rear quarter panel section. Not a big deal. New trunk gasket, and latch, however it does need the chrome outer "flipper" to finish trunk. Interior appears to be all original other than the carpet. Seats are real good, but getting kind of dry and has a couple very minor seam splits. Interior door panels are ok, except the front passenger which looks like it had some water damage at some point. No headliner, but do have the original support rods. Nothing brings back the fond memories of the 50s and 60s like this Mayberry tribute car. Everywhere you go, people smile and wave. Being only an hour from Mount Airy, NC, this car is very popular. Mount Airy is the small town in NC that the fictional Mayberry was modeled after. We recently attended "Mayberry Days" and there were probably 30-40 replica sheriff cars in the parade, from 1959-1965, with the 1962s being the most recognized. You'll see a picture or two of the actual parade last month. The car can be used for cruise nights, parades, grand openings, weddings, and all kind of special events. NOTE: Some of the interior pictures were taken before the carpeting was replaced. I have added in several showing the new carpeting. Deposit is due within 24 hours, and balance is due in 3 Days, no later. It was the closest I could find on the net that shows a large view of the car.On Nov-09-14 at 11:52:12 PST, seller added the following information: Revised from above. Black and white appears to be a straight 62 Galaxie, not a 61 as mentioned above. Ornament in center of grill is the difference
