Vehicle Detail

* 1987 CHEVROLET R20 SUBURBAN 2WD (2500, 3/4 Ton) * Before you and up for bid is my 1987 Chevy Suburban R20 2500 Silverado. The particulars of the Suburban are as follows: * One family owned Colorado ranch truck, ordered and purchased new from Lindner's Chevrolet/Cadillac/Olds in Canon City, Colorado. Delivery taken on 11/15/86. * Garaged & pampered non-smoker, no pets ownership. The truck spent winters in Arizonia and summers here in Colorado. * CARFAX certified (in hand) NO accident history and ownership. * Solid truck throughout, guaranteed to have ZERO RUST! No winter driving conditions and therefore no exposure to salt or mag chloride corrosives. * The truck was purchased with the intent of towing a single horse trailer with a family Palomino which explains the color selection as it closely matched his coat. The trailer mirrors were removed and the factory mirrors were reinstalled. * 100% factory paint, bumper to bumper, it has just received a thorough hand rub compound application, pre-polish and polish procedure. The finish is excellent. * This Suburban is in amazing condition throughout, it is a testament to how well a vehicle can still look at 28 years of age with proper care from conscientious owners. * This is a "survivor" truck as the only items not original to the truck are items that necessitated replacing given to age or wear. * Only 118,647 miles, it has been overly maintained. I have every service record since day one. * R20, this is the 1987 designation for a C20 or a 2500 (3/4 ton) 2WD * Ordered with 6 passenger seating, no third row as John & Millie were now retired and adamant that they would not be carting everyone around and that the cargo area was for tack. The secondary row has 60/40 split fold down capability. * 454 CI V8, TBI the truck has the power and torque to tow most anything. Fuel economy is better than one would anticipate, and was never an issue as the trucks capability was a trade off. There are NO annoying drips or leaks. The engine compartment is also immaculate. * TH400 transmission, it shifts smoothly throughout, NO leaks. The transmission was just serviced with a new gasket, filter, and fluid. * Silverado package * Power windows, all operable, all windows lower and raise properly, the side vent windows open smoothly. * Power locks, operable * Cruise control, operable * Cold AC, front and rear equipped, * All ventilation, heat, defrost, etc., operable * Lighter (outlet), operable * Tilt wheel * Immaculate Buckskin colored interior, I would rate it a 9.8 out of 10. The dash is PERFECT, NO upper cracks, the lower portion is in equally great shape. There are 600 individual speaker holes, not one is split. Period Dash Topper from 1992. Perfect fabric upholstery, these seats were always covered and it shows. The lower vinyl on the sides and back are great. Excellent deep pile carpet throughout. New headliner, 2 sections. Perfect door panels. The barn doors each have a small outer plastic edge piece, both have a small crack where the attachment screw is. Though no longer available from GM, they should be inexpensive and easy to source from a restoration/aftermarket supplier. * It's not that the Suburban is clean, it has never been allowed to get dirty, pristine clean throughout. The undercarriage still presents with factory grease pencil marks. * Special order two tone tan & gold paint, the gold has some light flaking at the rocker panels, (see pics) otherwise, the finish is excellent. While the color is neutral and hard to discern in the pictures, observe the reflections in the paint. The left barn door has a small bb size ding midway. There are a couple of small stone chips and a couple of equally small scratches. * Excellent factory body panel fit and finish, the entire exterior paint is as nice as the interior post paint. I have included one under door picture, it is indicative and representative of all the door and hinge areas. * Excellent chrome bumpers, no pits or discoloration * Very nice grill, a couple of small stone ships, no cracks. * Hood deflector guard, it has protected well * Diamond plate running boards * Heavy duty tow package w/7 pin connector and period correct brake controller that functions properly. * Originally equipped with a Delco AM/FM stereo, it has a period Pioneer "SuperTuner", AM/FM/single CD player. The factory radio will accompany the sale once it has been located. * 4 Brand new correct Michelin (10 ply) LTX 235/85-16 M&S tires, when I say new...they have 40 miles on them. * 2004 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado alloy wheels with center caps and new lug nuts, these are an excellent upgrade from the factory steel wheels and truly compliment the appearance of the truck. The factory steel wheels along with the 4 factory hubcaps (in excellent shape) will accompany the sale. This upgrade with the tires, balance and alignment was just under $1500.00. * Rear Privacy Glass, NO windshield cracks * All gaskets and weatherstripping are soft and pliable, the window brushes and rubber are in excellent condition. * EVERY feature, whether of safety or convenience, is fully operational. All lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, horn, wipers, washer, dome lights, glove light, dash lights, key buzzer, etc. * All gauges and operational monitoring lights are fully operational, no erratic needles. * Original spare, jack and tire tool in its under hood fender mounted provision. * Original GM rubber floor mats, (yeah, they were covered, too.) * 40 gallon fuel tank * ALL original keys, paperwork (including the vehicle order and invoice), manuals, operational pamphlets, key blanks, and the entire service history since day one. * Rather than list them individually, I have included a photograph from the glove box door which provides the decal indicating the 32 options ordered on the truck. * Recent service includes new Gates belts, hoses, all fresh fluids, (oil, coolant, brake, power steering, rear diff) filters, brake service, plugs, wires, and the aforementioned transmission service * OPTIMA Red Top battery At 28 model years of age, the R20 SUBURBAN is in remarkable condition. It looks, runs, drives and rides great! It starts right up, idles smoothly, goes down the road effortlessly and stops assuredly, straight as an arrow. This is a NO compromises 2500 Suburban. It is in collector quality condition. There are no stories or excuses. There will be no disappointments. It is as nice of an example as you are likely to find. Better in person than the pictures indicate and pictures don't lie. The Burb often receives compliments, drive it everywhere with pride of ownership. You are bidding to purchase the SUBURBAN, not to be the first to "look at it". Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid, thank you. Inspections are welcome and will be facillitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding. Transportation and/or delivery are the sole responsibility of the buyer. The truck and I are located in the Colorado Springs vicinity. The truck is 100% road worthy and I am confident that it could be easily be driven home to anywhere in America. If you elect to fly in and drive home I will gladly pick you up from the airport in Colorado Springs. As a side note, as a collector/hobbyist, when I sell one of my older vehicles, I generally do not advocate driving it home, as they are just that...older. Miles from home is not the place to become aquainted with your new older car or truck. "Get it home first", I always say. Well, with regard to the Suburban, I would not hesitate to drive this truck down to family in Florida or anywhere in the country. I can recommend a reputable carrier for you if needed, or will coordinate with your chosen shipper. I have set a reasonable reserve for the SUBURBAN. It is commensurate with the condition of the truck, the low miles, and the ownership history. Please DO NOT ask what the reserve is, as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for the exemplary 1987 R20 Chevy Suburban that you see before you. An initial payment of $1000.00 is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close VIA PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS. The balance is then due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. I prefer a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I will also accept cash in person for the balance if you intend to fly in and drive home. I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours to discuss further arrangements. If you are new to eBay, have 0% feedback, excessive negative feedback, inactivity on eBay despite being a long term member, or less than 10 quality transactions, you'll need to CALL ME prior to placing your bid to express your intentions. Otherwise, your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from further bidding. I am not a dealer and therefore, I do not have a littany of rules and regulations. The few simple guidelines that I have are to differentiate a sincere buyer from someone that is unlikely to fulfill their purchase commitment. These auctions cost money, but more importantly, time. I will not waste your time, please do not waste mine. I am a legitimate seller simply seeking a legitimate buyer. Thank you. Clear Colorado title in my name. The Suburban and the title will not be released until full payment has been received. Upon receipt of full payment I will overnight VIA FEDEX the title and bill of sale documents to you or hand deliver them if you are to fly in. Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence. eBay provides for only 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the truck, however, there is so much more of this truck to see. If you would like any area specific photgraphs, simply request them. I have over 75 pictures available. The pictures selected are an excellent representation, and what one can expect of the entire truck. I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mails, call me directly with any questions. If you reach my voice mail, leave a brief message and I will return your call promptly. If you would like to discuss a "buy it now", call me directly and PRESENT your offer. DO NOT call and ask me, "what's the lowest that you'll take?" I know what the truck is worth and won't be giving it away. I'd like to sell it, I don't have to sell it. As a collector/hobbyist, I strive to accurately & honestly represent a vehicle. With that said, last month I sold our 28 year old family Volvo that had been sitting for eight years to a 35 yr. old "Occupy Wall Streeter". It was acknowledged by the buyer as being sold in "as is" condition when he elected to drive it home against suggestion. Well, under the category of "they'll do it every time"...over the next 3 days he vacillated between liking the car and not liking the car to the point where he left negative feedback. Three hours of phone calls to ebay still have not resolved in removing the feedback, and I refuse to give ebay anymore of my time. Of note, at the same time the Volvo was sold, I sold my uncles 1978 Ford F-250, we also had it since new. Not quite as nice as the Suburban, but a 27K mile "survivor" ranch truck. It was represented as accurately as the Volvo was and the buyer was very pleased. The SUBURBAN has been represented thoroughly, accurately and honestly. Given its age, it is sold in "as is" condition with no expressed, written or otherwise implied warranties. If it is not as I have described, you do not have to buy it. The astute buyer knows that the best investment in the collector market is a "survivor" quality vehicle. One can restore a vehicle 10 times, they are, however, only original once. The addage that "one gets what one pays for", applies. If there's a better 1987 R20 Suburban available for the money...buy it. Thanks for looking and good luck when you bid on this extremely nice and amazingly well kept Suburban. Jeff (719)-492-1234, c
