howardj27 Store Offered here is a VERY RARE 1980 Suzuki GS1000S Wes Cooley replica in WEATHERED but (mostly) ORIGINAL condition. This is a one-owner bike (for the past 34 years - bought from original owner last month), with only 25K original miles on the clock. Sadly the original owner stopped riding the bike due to health issues in the late 80s (it was last registered in 1989 and probably hasn't run since), and then at some point he ran out of indoor storage space and it ended up spending quite a few years in his backyard. So it has some cosmetic issues, as you can see in the photos - the tank has some rust inside and out (probably can be saved), the aluminum has surface oxidation, the seat cover is shot, etc etc... That said, it is not nearly as bad as you might think, and the fairing, gauges/dashboard, front fender, side covers and seat cowl are all in VERY GOOD condition. Mechanically, the engine turns over with compression, carbs will need cleaning of course but I would bet it would fire right up with fresh gas & a new battery, transmission shifts cleanly, electrical system looks good (everything lights up when connected to a battery, starter spins the engine), brake hydraulics will need attention as you would expect. Obvious missing parts are the mufflers, chainguard and turn signals, pretty much everything else is there - airbox is off the bike but it IS included. Bottom line, this is a project bike that will need a lot of work, but the upside is it IS an original GS1000S Wes Cooley Replica and will make a very sweet (and valuable!) bike when restored!
