Up for auction is this 1968 Pontiac GTO. Sorry to show the car in this condition. I purchased the car about a year ago from its owner of 32 years. The car had a frame-off some years ago and then was put into storage. I started the bodywork on it, stripped it to bare metal as you can see from the pictures, but had to quit working on the car due to health problems. The car is absolutely rust-free, very solid and in good shape. It does need the bodywork to be finished, the left quarter is rough but doable, and the right quarter will be easily finished. Left and right doors need light bodywork to be done, and slight bodywork is left on the decklid. Front fenders and hood are in great condition. I have the front valance and rear bumper. Looks like the rear bumper was chromed but it'll need to be redone, as it appears to have not been done very well. I have all the original interior, which will need to be replaced. I have all mounting hardware: door, decklid, hood, etc. I also have the original wheels and beauty rings. Engine is the original Pontiac 400 with a 4BBL Rochester. Block casting #9790071, head casting #E208, and block vin #28Z131672. It was overhauled before going into storage. Transmission has a leak that I won't be able to repair before the end of the sale, but the transmission does seem to work fine. The front brake calipers are leaking and will need to be rebuilt. Car has manual steering, manual brakes, and no air. This is going to be a very nice car when finished, it's well worth the trouble.
