We got this 1979 Datsun Fairlady 280zx a couple weeks ago in a trade. Right Hand Drive imported. Everything in Japanese Configuration. Great car. Was not running when we got it. Previous owner thought the fuel pump was bad and parked it years ago. Fuel pump is good there was a issue with the air flow sensor boots being loose and the fuel pump would cut out due to the lack of air going through the sensor. If the car does not sell we are keeping to do a restoration on it. We just replaced the Starter, Clutch master and slave cylinders and did some vacuum line repairs to get the car running and driving. As far as we can tell the car does not leak or burn oil. As is sale.Car runs and drives smooth even with the old tires on it. Engine idles around 900rpm. Shifts smoothly into all gears. Brakes work but need gone through since the car has been sitting. Caliper pins probably have some corrosion on them. Emergency brake functions and holds the cars weight. Sounds like the idler pulley may need replaced there is a small amount of noise coming from it. Has original wheels on it and tires are dry but hold air.We haven't washed or vacuumed the car. The dirt on it is the same dirt from when we found it. Interior is old but good condition. Has cd player in it but we have the original radio and cassette player to go with the car. doors open and shut like new. power windows work but the could use some lubed. Headliner sags a little but is not ripped or pinned up. Original spare and inflation can is th the hatch. Does not appear to have any leaks in the interior.The body is in restorable condition. Small dings in some body panels from acorns falling on it from the last two years it sat under a tree in the previous owners driveway. Floor pans are solid. Left hand frame rail needs replaced (rails included) Right hand rail in decent shape but we are including a new set of rails with sale . Rust on the roof panel just above wind shield. Cowl panel has rust and would need replaced or repaired. Rust on the hatch below the rear glass.Rust on bottom of doors and rockers. Rust on lower quarter panels. Hatch/trunk floor is solid. Great stating point for a restoration or would make a incredible parts car. Or just fix the rails and drive as is with the patina look CLEAR OHIO TITLE..
